I will say that this is always a tough issue and obviously speaks to the situation vs. talent debate that is always ongoing. Did the talent create the situation or did the situation create the talent? Chicken? Egg? Personally I like both Chicken Salad & Egg Salad sandwiches.

But the point is - we know, or at least believe, that not all Coaches are created equal (thanks Bill Belichick) and there is usually a fair amount of players, who due to their situation on one team, have a 180 as soon as they are on a new team & new situation. That is just human nature. We like to believe that all players & coaches are professionals but emotions & personalities have a fair amount of involvement and players DO take some plays off, and coaches DO have their personal favorites. Etcetera.

So I for one am always interested to see how people feel about controversial players - especially ones that are either really underperforming or overperforming. Can a Kamara or Thielen be themselves on a completely different team using a different offensive scheme? Can a Treadwell or a Perine be much much better if only they had been on different teams?

Corey Davis - Looks talented but the volume isn’t there in that offense

David Johnson - Obviously handcuffed by a poor team last year

David Carr - I just think if you look at his MVP caliber season when he had both Crabtree and Cooper, the talent is there, he just needs help.

Any number of RBs - Opportunity is the biggest thing with backs.

CJ Anderson (until he got some totes in L.A.), Rashaad Penny, Tyrell Williams. I think given more opportunities these guys will produce.

I agree ... He's being held back from being the great power lifter that he should be instead of posing as an NFL RB🤗

I think you mean he is being held back by NFL network.

Joking aside I can see Derek being held back by a number of factors: coaches, talent around him, and mentally he seems to hold himself back as well sometimes.

Funny good catch! :D

Carr is simply not very good. He can't read a defense worth a darn and won't throw WR's open. In fact, he seems to choke under pressure so goes ultra safe to TE's and RB's.

He makes way too much money for his game. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if the Raiders pick a QB early this draft. I could actually see him being cut to save the 15 million.

Not going to happen this year - his (Derek Carr) entire 2019 salary was guaranteed as of Feb 9th. Not to mention the dead cap total. Next year maybe - but he'll have at least 1 more year to work with Gruden.

Not to mention the Raiders have 70m to work with ...

Good catch. Salaries usually are not guaranteed in February. That typically comes in prior to June 1 cut. Smart agent. It's not the dead cap so much as it is the salary guarantee. Still a 1st round selection on a QB is not out of the question IMO.

All the players I roster that are disappointing me.
