Re: Why do we value in draft picks?
I hope anybody reading this would at least give this a try:
1) make a player value ranking. Easiest way would be to take DLF rankings and fiddle with them here and there to your personal liking.
2) insert where you would value the 2019(and 2020, 2021 if you want) rookie picks on that list.
3) debate them with each other here so we can help each other come to a better consensus for our Player and Roolie Draft Pick Value Rankings. Use the language of “Player and Pick Rankings” rather than the status quo Rookie Draft Picks. Adjust rankings as necessary.
4) use this better method to squeeze value out of trades over and over and build super teams by winning trades over our league mates who don’t value players and picks correctly.[Example: Would you not love it if somebody said a player was worth an early 1st and you could definitively say based on your rankings that that player is worth more than the 1.01 to you and you end up buying them for the 1.03, which is after all and early 1st?]
5) literally profit.

Look you are just trolling, it’s obvious and sad, but to respond anyways:clarion contrarion wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 5:06 pm but who has the correct value and the understanding of how to maximize the knowledge of those 100% correct infallible valuations ? how would we ever track that ?
no valuations are perfect or close that is a strawman, but to use a method that wouldn’t be that much work and would be so dang much more accurate and helpful in comparing players and picks and discussing value and squeezing real value out of trades...why are you so against that? It is clearly a better method than just being vague and pumping up the subjectivity and range of value up to maximum. I am trying to state a simple way we can reduce subjectivity, increase accuracy of valuation, increase accuracy of comparison, etc. Maybe open up to that instead of lashing out immaturely.

dude literally in my sig .
it says simplicity is the ultimate sophistication
It has also has an f-ton of championships listed plus more of redraft and defunct leagues not listed that verify that I can properly value players /picks without your better mousetrap boondoggle
what I am saying - we asked what time it is and you want to tell us how to build a clock - HARD PASS
that isn't trolling it was advice so one more time .......... like I said before save your brain power on this goat rope project and perfect your utilization of existing valuations !

You haven’t raised a single valid or cogent point yet. You are trying your hardest to derail this thread and take it off topic. I wouldn’t mind so much your immaturity but it is directed right at me and is muddying up this thread. If you’d only post if you have something worthwhile that isn’t trolling that’d be much better thank you.

Your right. This year Mike Evans is worth way more than the 1.01. However, last year the 1.01 was worth way than Mike Evans. Whereas Mike Evans true value hasn't change much over that time span.Dynasty DeLorean wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 5:16 pmLol, no it’s not.Elroypedro wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 4:58 pm Whereas the current status quo would be to say Evans is “worth an early 1st,”

Re: Why do we value in draft picks?
Every single one of the Player Debate threads would be served well by speaking in the language of this type of Player and Pick Value Ranking. That is part of the point. Those threads are borderline useless at this point.Mjvb5 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 5:23 pmSo what you mean is the numerous player X v player Y threads that show up daily or the ENTIRE PLAYER DEBATES THREADElroypedro wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 5:07 pm I hope anybody reading this would at least give this a try:

“Who is better, Sutton or Kirk?”
Do you want the answer to be 6 say Sutton and 3 say Kirk, a few say Sutton is worth Kirk plus a mid 2nd?
Or do you want posters to say what rank they have each in their Player and Pick Value Rankings, and how they value each in comparison to upcoming Rookie Draft picks?
Obviously the second. And, as explored above, the second would lead to much more consensus as subjectivity is lessened and accuracy of valuations increased through that method compared to valuing players based on rookie picks. So doubly obviously the second.
