How angry should I be?

Some of you may have seen the trade I posted earlier where I sold Chubb in somewhat “panicky” fashion

I got Lev Bell for Chubb + 2.09

Or so I thought.

When I joined this league (startup), there was apparently confusion as to how the rookie draft would be ordered. Commish put up a poll that said it would be a snake draft in the inverse order of the startup draft

Now that some trades have happened, the commish has made it clear that he thought the rookie draft would be linear.

Long story short, I just paid Chubb + 2.02 for Le’Veon when both myself & my trade partner thought I was paying the 2.09

I know 2nds are mostly a crapshoot but I think there’s a pretty big value difference between 2.02 & 2.09 (especially in a 10 team league)

I guess there’s not a lot that can be done at this point, any suggestions? Just eat it & be a tad pist?

If this is the case then this is what should happen. The commissioners' job is to enforce the rules as written or voted upon, not as he/she saw them in their head.

You have every right to be upset, but more-so do the others who own picks at the end of the rounds. That commish has to get his head on straight imo.

Agreed. The commissioner is claiming that the poll was regarding whether the STARTUP draft would be linear or snake.

I personally have NEVER seen a linear startup so that seems like BS.

Also, 3 others have now stated in the group chat that they thought the rookie draft would be snake
(All 3 of which have been the only guys to make trades that involve their rookie picks)

These trades were made during the draft

Fortunately, the buy-in for this league is very cheap.
Otherwise I might be a lot more irritated.

I told commish I’ll eat it on the 7 pick difference if I have to, I just want to make sure it’s buttoned up going forward

Id be mad that the rule changed all of a sudden. Have you paid for the year already? If not, I'd probably just consider leaving. Doesn't sound like a fun leave or a good commish

I genuinely don't think it's an option to post a link to our actual league but I'll post a link to the draft (still in progress) as well as an attachment to screenshots of the poll in question & the chat regarding this dispute

Files had to be pretty small, but if you can read it: you can see that the vote was unanimous (9-0) & that I attempted to clarify that he was referring to the ROOKIE draft being snake

This is the first dispute I've posted about and I really hope it's the last, this shite is annoying

I've paid. But it's a cheap buy-in ($10) league with random guys; saw a league opening and thought 'screw it, I'll take on another startup.'

No, just was trying to figure out which of the comments from that thread was theirs. This is the important part- "yeah, are you ok with snake drafting the start up first. Then the inverse of that order will be the rookie draft for this year." I could imagine someone thinking "inverse of that order" means take round one start up order, reverse it, and keep that new order for all the rounds of the rookie draft.

The bigger issue is so much is left un-said, whether because it was assumed or noone thought of it.
