Start 2 TE leagues

Postby XclickX » Sun Feb 03, 2019 3:28 am

In leagues where you have to start 2 TEs and TEs receive double the points for receptions compared to rbs and wrs. How much of a bump do TEs receive in overall dynasty rankings? A full rd bump like 10-12 picks? Less ? More? Thanks.

Depends on the tier of tight ends. It absolutely would elevate the top guy and likely the second tier of TE1s. The TE2 tier is so massive and such a weekly crapshoot, I don't think it would change their value much.

As a starting point in 2TE leagues, I halve their ADP. So, if Kelce is going at, say, pick #30, then I'd start with him at #15. At that point, I'd adjust up or down depending other league specifics.

When you add in 2PPR for TE, then you could arguably get at least two TEs in the first round and possibly 4-6 in the top two-three rounds. At least in theory. I imagine that most wouldn't adjust fast enough, though, to scoop up those few bona fide studs. If you could get two of the top 4-6 TEs, then I would do that in a second! Also remember that you can keep drafting TEs and flex one/them!

And, if it's also SF or 2QB, then I would imagine often finding 5 total QBs and TEs before any other position -- and I wouldn't hesitate to keep stocking up.

Perfect. This is exactly what I was looking for.

Just as an example, even in 1.5 ppr for TEs Kelce and Ertz I believe were the WRs 1 and 2 last year. So if you get 2 top TEs say end of first and early 2nd then you should have a huge advantage, especially in 2ppr. I'd go TE early and often in that format.
