2QB 2TE - Preferred Draft Strategy

Postby MattDeezy » Wed Jan 30, 2019 4:54 pm

For leagues that require starting 2QB and 2TE, what would be a good way to conquer the draft,

Would taking 2QB/2TE in the first 4 rounds be the way to go? Then build the rest of my team out?

I know that flexibility is key and if there’s great value you can’t pass on it, but just generally speaking I’d like to see thoughts.

Thanks in advance!

Odds are that I'd likely trade out of the first round so that potentially my first five (!) picks could be QBs and TEs.

In regular SF and TE premium I don't mind going QBQBTE like you are suggesting (though in the 2 I did this year only the top QBs actually went very early), if one of the 3 top TEs is still there.
I don't have a lot of QBQBTETE lineup leagues (and it seems kind of awful to be honest), but I think I'd go TE early and often honestly. You can get manageable QBs even in the early to mid rounds, but what decent TE will still be on the board after 3 rounds or so in this format?

If you're on the wheel round 1 and go Kelce/Kittle or something like that, it seems like the positional advantage would just be way too insane to pass up, even if you'll end up with something like Winston/Cousins/Dak/Stafford etc as your first QBs.

Load up on as many good QBs and TEs as you can without reaching. No sense in taking a blah WR who can start for you over a top notch TE who will sit on your bench. Teams will always be in need of those positions, especially TE and QB demand will be very high.
