2019 Dynasty / Fantasy Football Resolutions

Postby ArrylT » Mon Dec 31, 2018 7:49 am

With today being the last day of 2018, and tomorrow the start of a new year & new dynasty season now is a good time to share your resolutions for the 2019 season. :)

You can, if you wish, share non-football related resolutions of course. However this thread is meant to see what owners plan to do to make themselves better owners for the 2019 season, whether big picture or little picture.

Perhaps you'll

Join DLF Premium
Join more leagues
Play in less leagues
Focus more on Rookies
Trade less
Watch more NFL
etcetera

Whatever it is - please feel free to share, and we can revisit a year from now and see how our resolutions fared. 8-)

To be more patient with good picks/pick ups (at one point I had more than a half dozen shares of guys like Herndon, Jonnu, Everett T. Taylor, D. Hamilton, and I Thomas this year, and cut them for bye week issues, really annoyed at that, I do that every year, and it really irks the hell out of me). I still have shares, but not what I did. Many of these guys aren't worth too much yet, but I see them being quite valuable down the line. The one guy I managed to hold onto that I'm happy with is Shaheen, and it's not so much hold onto as repeatedly re-add him as I could cut other players down the stretch. I think the Bears go full Shaheen by '20 after they've gotten rid of two years of the bad deal they signed Burton too. Even if they don't cut Burton in '20, I imagine he'll be behind Shaheen by December '19 at the latest and at that point I'll own him on nearly every single one of my dynasty squads.

My resolutions include:

1 - Know my limit & stay within it.

I've figured out how many leagues I can play in & how much I can spend & my goal is to ensure I remain within those limits, despite the obvious distractions & enticements to do otherwise.

2 - Challenge myself

Whether it is seeing if I can go a full year in a league without making 1 trade, or looking at players through a different light, or trying a different approach - make sure not to do the exact same thing over & over. What worked in 2018 or 2017 may not work in 2019.

3 - stay patient

Whether it is with an orphan rebuild, a startup, or just remembering, like stoneghost28, not to give up quickly on a guy for the hot flavor of the week - remember to be patient.

I'm retiring. 30 years in the game is enough. Cleveland looks like they are at a point where they've turned the corner. I'm ready to go back to just being a fan and enjoying watching football.

Kittle had emerged the young stud, Rudolph a competent backup TE. HH became capitol to spend. I needed an rb3 for a championship run. Freeman was down for good, Coleman had a solid game and his pass catching should give a solid floor... Next year free agent...

It made sense. *stares at projections angrily* it was logical

Hangs head in immediate regret
