Damnit why not I moved down again. Full result is:

Give: Hopkins, rookie 3,08, 4,05

Got: startup 4.11, 15.02, rookie 2.05, 2.06, 3 2020 1st, 2020 3rd
I don't really like that overall outcome at all. The three 2020 1sts are nice, but you've essentially traded yourself directly into a rebuild right out of the gate.
It's not really a rebuild if you're coming out of a start-up, it's just drafting for the future. Next year in a really strong draft class he'll probably have 5 picks in the top 13 starting with the 1.01. Not too bad of start if you ask me.
drinking so forgive me, but where'd he get the 1.01? We're still assuming it's a high draft class, that's banking a lot on what people are hoping. I can see the fun in starting a league where you're at a major disadvantage to start, to test scouting and luck skills, but damn. You remind me of the Gruden, screw my people, move them for the future. You might be batshit crazy. But you might be a genius. I'm curious now.

Gave up the 3.11, the 4.06, and the 4.09 for Marvin Jones and John Brown

Not as lopsided as it looks on the surface, tho. Super balanced IDP, so solid prospects routinely can be had as late as the early 5th round.

Well, I may be assuming too much but; if he traded down for 3 2020 1st, a 2020 3rd, and 2 upgrades in this years draft(and the fact that like you, he was drunk when he made his first bad trade) chances are that his team will be at a disadvantage this year thus giving his team the best shot at the 1.01 next year. Now, if he's smart, he'll avoid wasting picks on old vets and draft young players who will gain value and be in their prime in a year or two.

Hmm we will see. I moved down again haha. 1.05 woulda been Hopkins.

So far both trades comes out to:

Give: Hopkins, rookie 3.08, 4.05

Got: startup 3.08, rookie 2.05 and 2.06, two 2020 1sts

Not really...
He still had his 2nd, 3rd, and now two fourth round startup picks.
Hopkins is great, but the 4.11 in a startup is still a pretty decent asset that is somehow forgotten about in your critique.
Players in that range (if you want to compare losing Hopkins to gaining another wr) are guys like Kupp, Woods, or Sutton for a few examples. Or nab a top dynasty qb in Mayfield, Rodgers, Wilson, or Watson if you like. Or a rb like Lindsay or Henry.

I’m sure many fantasy owners can find SOMEONE in that range they really like.

Ignoring 3rds and later for simplicity (the late picks favor him anyways):
I’d, for example, trade Hopkins for Mayfield, two seconds this year, and 3 firsts next year. I’d also trade Hopkins for Kupp, 2 2nds and 3 1sts.

This in no way pushes him into a rebuild.

Love the debate haha. Its been a really fun start up, although I’ll have to admit fully I’m not sure the moves were smart lol, we will see how everything pans out.

I picked Deshaun Watson with my startup 2nd (5pt Passing TD SF league)

Traded my 3.05 startup for 5th and 8th startup, rookie 2.02, and yet another 2020 1st

Going into the 4th round with just Watson, but I’ll have 4.08, 4.11, 5.04, 5.05 to really determine how my team is getting built, and a nice pile of futures.
main league, half PPR, all TDs 6, -3 for INT
12 team. 2019 champ, 2020 runner up, ‘21 3rd
start 2SF, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2WRT

QB: T Lawrence, K Cousins, R Wilson, Z Wilson
RB: K Walker, T Ettiene, JK Dobbins, D Gore, J Hasty, D Johnson, L Rountree
WR: JJ, AJB, A Cooper, Juju, C Kirk, J Dotson, N Westbrook-Ikhine, I McKenzie
TE. T Kelce, Pitts, Albert O, D Parham, J O’Shaunessy

I like these moves better because it's a SF and getting Watson in the 2nd is great. I've lost track- you have 4 2020 1sts now? What's the draft's url?

I just did a similar draft, but 20 team SF. Basically came away with Michael Thomas, Jared Goff, 1.01, 1.02, 1.04, 1.09, 4 2020 1sts, 3 2020 2nds, 3 2020 1sts, and 3 2020 2nds. I think it's a fun way to begin a start-up league, but we'll see how it turns out.

Completed a trade last week:

Give: James Conner and Tevin Coleman
Get: Tyreek Hill

I like it. I may have the best 1-2 punch at WR in the league right now.

I needed TE help pretty bad in one of my leagues, with K.Rudolph as my top option, so I made this deal today.

I give: C.Samuels/1.10
I receive: E.Engram/2020 2nd

Not so humble brag, but this trade is looking even better now, imo. Barkley can’t get the ball on every play, can he?
