Torrey Smith = 11
Sammy Watkins = 12
Both first names end in "y" though and feature double consonants. Torrey's first name has two vowels (not going to count y), while Sammy's last name also has two. On the other hand, Sammy's first name has only one vowel, the same as Torrey's last name. Both of those also begin with S, which is also the last letter in Sammy's last name.

Comparison is pretty valid in that sense. Not sure what you're talking about.

The re-occurrence of the foot injury is super scary but I agree with this 100%. Sammy looks like a WR2 with upside in this KC offense.

Meh, he's had some duds. It depends on what kind of league you are in. I play 0.33 PPR or 0.5 PPR most of the time. I feel like Full PPR and PPR Premium are just too much.

3rd best target at the very least, and when Hunt was there, he may have been #4.

Torrey Smith cut off his dreads after his 3rd year in the league. Sammy is already in his 5th year and still has dreads. Two different career paths, don’t see the comparison

No argument about his place in the pecking order but this is an explosive KC offense able to support many weapons in the passing game. I'll admit he was slightly boom or bust (he had three weeks under 10 points) but he was literally the cumulative WR24 in PPR leagues through week 9 when he injured his foot. On a per game basis he was WR33, so bit less impressive...but at that point he was scoring at a similar pace to Kenny Golladay who people seem to love right now. I get all of the reasons for being down on Sammy, but as long as you are realistic about what he is, there is still reason for optimism that he can be a quality flex play next season with upside because his QB is Patrick Mahomes.

Sammy Watkins - Hold or Sell?

Postby hoos89 » Fri May 03, 2019 12:27 pm

I know this is one of the most polarizing players in fantasy football, but I'm curious how many people are capitalizing on the sell opportunity that is Tyreek's upcoming suspension to offload Sammy (and if so, what you've received for him), and how many are holding on until the bitter end?

He's def polarizing.

I'm contending this year and def holding. He put in a decent floor when healthy last year, albeit a bit inconsistently. Without Tyreek, the ceiling is high enough I'd rather he be on my team than one of my opponent's. If I was rebuilding, I think it would take a high 1st to get my attention if Tyreek is out of KC.

I can also understand someone thinking this is a great sell high window and willing to take less.

Either way, I think this year has a strong impact on his value - dominate in a great situation or fail to capitalize despite great situation.

If you can get an early/mid 1st, I think you have to sell.

I have him on one team and will be holding. If he stays healthy he will be a top 10 WR this year - and health has always been the ? with him. I tried buying in another league and the price is just too high right now.

Yeah, agree to disagree.Too many teams, too many chances to succeed, too many disappointments for me. If you still own Sammy, you think like Shcritters and will not being moving him.........

Contender? Hold or possibly buy.

If you are building sell, sell, sell.

He really only will have value if Tyreek is suspended
