You think Samuels could be the guy over Conner next year?

They aren’t gonna change it. They say this on Twitter...

“On Jaylen Samuels:

He's had RB/TE eligibility all season. If we remove TE eligibility today, it would not take effect until this evening, after most claims had been made. We felt it was not fair to change so late in the day or season.

Samuels will remain an RB/TE in our game.”

Yet they changed all their pre-draft rankings the day before THE biggest draft day of the year. Yahoo is the worst.

I personally doubt it. But, stranger things have happened. If JS takes major advantage of this situation and does something big with the opportunity, he could make a case for himself. More likely imo, he retains the primary back up role and vultures some touches n points here and there if Conner is healthy.

Yeah ... he's going to need more than 1 or 2 games to climb the depth chart. Don't forget that Conner is a hometown favorite with a great personal interest story who has performed well thus far.

Yeah I was just seeing how his Valhalla was on him so figured I would ask. I have him in taxi so not sure I want to bring him up and drop Dion Lewis just for one game but it's not like I can start Dion either

Even if Ridley plays some snaps and takes the goal-line role, Samuels will get enough carries between the 20s and receptions as the receiving back to be a mid-range RB2 in PPR. Kittle is a top-4 TE every week, but even that doesn't compare to RB2 numbers startable in the TE slot. Gronk is an elite talent at TE, but he has been far from an elite fantasy TE this year. I think it's an easy call to start Samuels over either one at TE.
I wouldn't feel comfortable benching a top notch TE for a rookie swiss army knife on a pass heavy team with elite WRs.
Fair enough. I could see an argument for Kittle over Samuels, but Gronk? He's hardly been reliable this year, let alone a must-start. What's your rationale for Samuels over Gronk?
I can see both sides to the Samuels debate - but I'm still starting Kittle over him. Gronk? Nah - much rather roll with Samuels. Kittle has seen such high usage, and likely that SF will need to air it out a lot this weekend, so until I've seen otherwise, he carries the least risk which is what I want for playoff week. If you think your a heavy underdog, and believe in Samuels then I could see the rationale. Gronk on the other hand has been worse than Burton this year.

Samuels has come out and said he is starting this week, but that Ridley is getting the second series, then it'll be the hot hand. Make of that what you will, for me it's the basic risk-reward scenario...

I'm of the belief that the Colts are much more likely to add a big time RB than the Steelers; so I would rather have Samuels.

In ppr scoring, I believe the answer is Hines. Samuels relevancy will hinge upon Conner's health. No way I'd bet on Samuels dethroning a Healthy J.Conner. Hines will have a role in Indi unless of course L.Bell goes there. If that happens, I reserve the right to change my answer. lol

I love Kittle. I said about a month ago he's my #2 in dynasty behind Kelce (I'm a huge Goedert fan so that knocks Ertz' future in my eyes, and Kittle's QB situation will improve).
That said, you're stating the best of one situation (Kittle is currently top 4) and the worst of another (rookie swiss army knife that may be ignored). Someone could easily do the opposite and say "I'll take the RB that has the tools to be involved in all facets of the game in a highly explosive offense with a QB that has shown over and over again he knows how to utilize such a weapon over a tight end in a low scoring offense with a crappy QB."

I could see it going either way, because that's just the way football is, but I think Samuels gets more opportunities than Kittle.
That isn't exactly objective ranking. LOL. Your love for Goedert doesn't affect the reality of Ertz's production. I think Kittle would be around 3 for me, but pushing 2 due to age.

Well, in the battle of Kittle vs Samuels, I think Kittle may have this round.
