2020 Draft

Postby jonniecakes » Mon Nov 26, 2018 12:39 pm

I know, I know. It's WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY too early to talk about it (hell, it's still early to talk about the 2019 Draft) but I wanted to get ppl's opinion on what they thought about the '20 draft. I keep hearing that it's supposed to be loaded with talent. I've already acquired four firsts and two seconds for this possible influx of talent.
Dynasty League Roster - 12-team league, 0.5 PPR, 18-player max +2 Rookies
QB Tannehill, Wentz, Fields
RB Taylor, Mixon, Fournette, Javonte Williams, Elijah Mitchell
WR Adams, Julio, Tee, Chase, Shenault, Dyami Brown, Nico Collins, Toney
TE Hockenson, Fant

Potential RBs:
Jonathan Taylor
Najee Harris
Travis Etienne
A.J. Dillon
Cam Akers
J.K. Dobbins
D'Andre Swift

Potential WRs:
Jerry Jeudy
Laviska Shenault
Tee Higgins

So, yeah it could be loaded this time next year, especially with RBs.

Wow - that's not including guys that don't declare this year and wait until 2020

Yeah, so far the names expected to declare have. But as a base, the 2020 draft could be more appealing on paper.

It's also including the guys that don't declare in 2020 and wait until 2021.

We're just guessing BOTH at the list and ALSO at the production in 2019. Still, it is shaping up as an impressive set of talented offensive skill position players.

looks good, especially compared to 2019 but like others have said all it takes is one or two guys to stay in school or underperform and there goes the class.
See Damien Harris and Bryce Love, both on staying in school and then underperforming

Being a long suffering Maryland Terrapins alum and fan, keep an eye on Anthony McFarland. He just went for 298 yards against THE Ohio State and over 1,000 on the year, his redshirt freshman season. I can see him going over 1,000 next year and entering draft early, if only because I can't have nice things

I watched that game a couple weeks ago when it was on. That was an impressive performance, he is kind of a little squirt.

Hmmm, interesting. We'll have to keep him in mind this time next year. These RBs look to be a huge class of potential in 2020.

I’m sure there’s examples where returning to school pays off ... but it seems like most the time it’s a horrible decision to return to school.

Especially at the RB position, I will never understand why anyone would go back at that position if you are a solid draft prospect, your earning window is so short and age becomes a big knock on RBs. I think Harris has mostly stayed the same as far his evaluation and may actually rise in the draft simply due to the smaller RB class, but Love has really hurt himself this year.

the ohio state game was sensational but if we extrapolate his penn state game stats to get to 1000 yards he will need 500 carries and need to play 84 games I really don't think he has the build for that work load ?

There are a handful of guys in my league who are contending for the title this year that are refusing to sell 2020 picks at the trade deadline to improve and/or plug holes in their lineups for the playoffs. People seem pretty obsessed with this class.

Maybe they're just refusing to sell for what is being offered. Most contenders with a missing piece are willing to part with a first two years out if it means an upgrade to their lineup.
