Noah Fant, TE, Iowa is likely the one you heard about. Unfortunately his head coach seems to run hot and cold with him recently. Last season he caught 11 TD's in 30 total receptions, and he's an athletic cyborg who can jump out the gym. His teammate TJ Hockenson has had a good season and is also eligible for the 2019 TE class.

Other names to watch are Jace Sternberger from TAMU, Irv Smith out of Bama, and my absolute favorite Caleb Wilson.

Fant looks like a first round TE prospect. He's legit.

Jared Pinkney from Vanderbilt is getting some love. Irv Smith Jr is looking solid this season as well.

Albert O from Mizzou - Mackey Finalist

Rumor is he is coming back, but if he doesn't...A. Hernandez upside.

Supposedly, he is one of the fastest guys on the team at 6'5 260

He started off slow this year, but then took off again with a game of 6/159/3 vs. Memphis before banging up his shoulder vs Florida.

Last year he had 29 catches, 415 yds and 11 TDs as a RS-FR. Before he got hurt a few weeks ago he already had 43/466/6.

Take it easy with Fant. Right now he doesn't have the skills to be a combo-TE, and I suspect his lack of route-craft is why he tends to disappear from games. I also question his play-strength; I've seen some cornerbacks manage to bottle him up. A TE that can't physically bully cornerbacks isn't much use in the NFL.

Yeah, but his Red Zone upside is worth teams investing in him. Not many TE's come into the league extremely well polished. He's very young and super athletic. He has tremendous potential.

Same school where Kittle wasn't used much, right?

*Disclaimer - haven't watched any of this team, just asking*

The red-zone productivity will disappear at the NFL level if he can be redirected in his routes by players that weigh 40 pounds less than him (Montre Hartage is listed at 190lbs, and I watched him do this to Fant).

Regardless, the lack of combo ability is the larger point, in my mind. The great dynasty TEs are usually combo-TEs.

Iowa is using their TEs plenty this year. Their first and third leading receivers are TEs. It's just that Hockenson has been a lot more consistent than Fant.

Kittle was and continues to be an ideal combo-TE, by the by.

If some declare, it looks like a casually loaded class.

List of guys you'll want to look into. I think most already mentioned.

Noah Fant (Iowa)
TJ Hockenson (Iowa)
Jace Sternberger (A&M)
Irv Smith Jr (Bama)
Albert Okwuegbunam (Missouri)
Kaden Smith (Stanford)

All could be top 2 round picks. For my money Sternberger and Okwuegbunam are the two to own in fantasy.

Hockenson is very similar to Kittle. More athletic than you think and a good blocker so he will stay on the field. That is one reason he plays more and is used more than Fant at Iowa. Iowa likes to use TEs but they also want them to be able to block. Fant is not a good blocker, although improved from his first two years. I think both will be good NFL TE's and have fantasy upside if in the right spot. Fant will blow away the combine athletically and can be a stud if used as more of a WR than an all-around TE.

Im gonna pick Okwuegbunam just for the name.

TE are always better with great names... Gronk, Njoku, Ertz... forget about the Smiths, Rudolphs and Doyles
