If you got Collins cheap or free great, you got something out of him. If you went out and paid full price for him going into this season thinking he'd be a long term starter, might have not been a great dynasty move.

Argument was that he's been an RB2 so far this season....which is still true. Nobody would have expected that he'd potentially lose his starting role to a guy on the practice squad last week.

I traded Collins, P-Rich, a 2nd and a 4th (53 man roster full IDP balanced scoring) for OJ Howard in a 16 team premium. Was real pumped about that and still am. One of my favorite trades in last 5 years.

Looks like he is OUT this week - could be just what Gus Edwards needs to grab the main role for the rest of the season ...

Traded lesean McCoy and martavis Bryant for Collins, buck Allen, and 1.10 at the beginning of the year. 1.10 turned into Ridley whom I later traded. All in all I'm disappointed Collins has flopped but still probably won the trade

Picked both he and Drake off waivers last year, traded them this offseason. Rather miss the one out of how many of these types that actually stick long term in dynasty, than be constantly stuck holding them all with little to show. Ride these guys the rest of the season when you find them, but generally selling for a 1st or in a package for an established player afterwards is the lowest risk/highest reward move.

Why not? That's been the theme in Baltimore's running game the last few years: Random guys usurping the assumed starter.

Yeah, not sure people were saying he’d be usurped by an internal option, but he had plenty of doubters as a player dropped before the end of his rookie contract.

Gus Edwards wasn't even on anyone's radar prior to last week, and Allen's role had diminished over the last several weeks. This was a pretty surprising change in the backfield. I do think this had more to do with the move to Jackson at QB and running the read option than anything else, but in any case...Collins is close to worthless now.

He has been getting PT ever since Week 6, now, his snap counts were nothing to drool over but yeah, I wonder if they've brought him in while Jackson was QB because they would have been on the 2nd team together?

Either way, Baltimore's RB situation is a complete mess every year. I guess we'll see how that changes after Harbaugh is gone.

Incredibly sharp fall from grace for Collins, and it's this type of thing unfolding that reinforces selling these type of guys every offseason.

So now that Alex Collins is officially dead, for 2018 anyways, what do we think of Baltimore RB for the rest of the season? I know Gus Edwards has looked good, but I think Kenneth Dixon will split carries or more the rest of the season.

Is there any value in keeping Collins until next year?

I can pick up McGuire, J Adams, Foles(to keep him from Wentz owner in playoffs rn), Darnold instead of Collins. Am I clinging to nothing hoping he will sign somewhere and be a lead back again in 2019?

I'd hold if you have the space. You'll buy time and give yourself a chance to evaluate new landing spot, depth chart, injury status etc. Collins was criminally underutilized by Baltimore. I still cant understand how they justify moving from Collins to Gus. Collins must have pissed the wrong person off I'm thinking. Anyway, He has the requisite skill set to be a fantasy #2 or 3 rb and he is still young enough.

I'm not dropping Collins in my league yet, but Adams or McGuire are easily more interesting players than Collins if they're available and there are no other drops you can make.
