Chris Conley, WR FA in 2019?

Postby kris_kapsner » Thu Nov 01, 2018 10:32 am

I just picked up this guy and stashed him for next year...or, for in the event of Watkins or Hill getting injured and missing time.

He is a very athletic player and he's a free agent next year.

Does anyone think he'll become fantasy relevant in the future?

I'm holding him too, but at this point his athleticism seems to be all he has. He's not a great Real life NFL receiver. Sure he can carve out a role, but I'm only holding him on my worst team in the hopes I can flip him at some point when his inevitable free agent signing temporarily boosts his value.

I think hes an athlete and that's about it. He needs a wide open offense like KC to be successful

When Smith was the QB, the excuse was that Smith didn't have the arm to take advantage of Conley's athleticism. Now that Mahomes is there, the excuse is there's too many mouths to feed? Conley got there before Hill and couldn't fend him off--granted Hill possesses elite speed. But then KC brings in Watkins instead of using Conley--granted he was recovering from injury. There always seems to be an excuse for him, but I'm not buying it any more. He's depth level talent. I'll let him be someone elses' roster clogger.

Chris Conley, anybody stashing for 2019?

Postby jordanzs » Thu Nov 15, 2018 10:21 am

Won’t be be a free agent then? Does anyone think there’s a chance that he goes somewhere else and becomes fantasy relevant? It happened with Robert Woods, almost nobody stashed him during his final year in Buffalo.

Robert Woods was in Buffalo...

Conley is in KC. I think his best fit is as a 4th or 5th option on a good offense. Hes fast but that's about all I see in him.

As a Chiefs fan my opinion is there is nothing there fantasy wise. Hes had the opportunity in the past to be the #1 guy on the team (ended up being hill) but hasn't done anything note worthy. Unless he goes to the Pats, Rams, Saints, or Packers I don't think there's much point to keep him around if your between him and some other guys. There are people out there stashing Marcell Ateman though so really anyone with a pulse is stashable.

He looked pretty good last night. I’ll guess I’ll try to stash him on some more leagues.

He certainly has some physical upside and he looked good in that game. It will be interesting this off season because some team may give him a shot at being a solid part of the offense in free agency if he continues to show flashes toward the end of this season.

I guess you could do worse as a bench stash, but I'm not optimistic about him becoming anything; I'd sell on any hype. I'm with the masses on this one... superb athlete that doesn't seem to be able to play WR at an NFL level. If Andy Reid can't get it out of him, who will?

To be clear, I have him where he's free. But not excited about it.

Been there, done that. I think he's likely more valuable to the Chief's depth chart than he would be to your fantasy roster. I'm taking flyers elsewhere.

Change of scenery could do him some good, it did for Albert Wilson.
