The Top 12 At Each Position - Tight Ends - Updated

Postby ArrylT » Mon Nov 12, 2018 2:49 pm

I am aware MNF has yet to play and there are still 2 bye weeks to deal with but with pretty much 10 weeks under wraps ...

just curious to see who thinks which player(s) will fall out of the top 12 aka QB1 / RB1 / WR1 / TE1
So peruse the lists and see who you'd remove and list who you would add.
Players in BOLD have not had a bye

Players yet to play

Giants

Saquon Barkley - Already a RB1
Odell Beckham - Already a WR1
Sterling Shepard - Would need 45 poitns today to reach WR1
Evan Engram - Would need 36 points today to reach TE1
Eli Manning - Would need 63 points today to reach QB1

49ers

George Kittle - Already a TE1
Matt Breida - Would need 42 points today to reach RB1
No WR or QB anywhere near WR1 / QB 1 range

Using standard PPR Scoring

Tight Ends 1-12

Ertz - 183
Kelce - 171
Ebron - 145
Kittle - 130 - hasnt played Week 10 yet
Cook - 114
Hooper - 107
Howard - 107
Burton - 106
Graham - 88
Njoku - 84
Reed - 82
McDonald - 81

Are we talking dynasty ranks or ROS?

I'm assuming he is asking for the ROS since he used standard PPR scoring rankings for this season only.

That is correct - who will finish in the top 12 by the end of the season. I am aware this seems 'redraftish' but it has dynasty implications as I am curious to see which outside the top 12 will climb in, and who people fall out. IE could Chubb make a late season run and finish top 12 RB? And a lot of people make their rankings based on the combination of current production & that going forward - I mean yeah you can keep Olsen in your top 12 TE if you wish but if he finishes as a TE2 and only has 1-2 years left ...

Top 8 listed are probably safe as they have all averaged over 10 PPG in PPR. Not too worried about either falling out of the top 12 barring injury of course...

Ertz
Kelce
Kittle
Ebron
Cook
Hooper
Howard
Burton

Of these last 4, I think Njoku is the only safe one. Graham could be 12th or more be year's end

Graham
Njoku
Reed (80.1)
McDonald (isn't he at 79? Rudolph is at 80.9)

I think these 3 names replace Reed, McDonald and Reed

Gronk - in 7 games hes played he has 10 PPG. Sure his dynasty value might be shot but I'd still rather start him than half of these names when healthy
Rudolph - averaging 9 PPG through 9. Vikings seem a little less score happy this year. He has always been an 8-12 option and you hope he grabs a goal line TD. Only has 2 so far but i
Olsen - averaging 12 PPG since he came back from injury
Longshot - Herndon - Has come on as of late, but I don't see him catching the top 12... maybe next year...

As far as dynasty ranks... most are already in top 12 or I predict will be by year end
Kelce
Ertz
Kittle
Howard
Henry (IR this year)
Njoku
Gronk
Engram (Down year, but I still think he has the skills to put up decent numbers without being TD dependent)
Hooper
Burton
Rudolph
Ebron / Herndon / Goedert

Appreciate your take! :) I agree that it is likely only the bottom 4 that could see (barring injury of course) themselves falling out.

Fwiw, I just traded for Hooper with Njoku on bye. Will be a good matchup play the rest of the season.

I rarely have regrets about trades I make - but this past off-season I do regret trading away a Hooper share for what was basically a late 2nd. He, like Ebron before him, is one of those young TEs whos value is less on the market than it is to owners who have them.
