This might actually be the rare RL trade that's good for both players - DT & Sutton - fantasy-wise.

Rapid fire, gotta think:

DT = slightly up
Sutton = up
Sanders = slightly up
DaeSean Hamilton = up?
Keenum = down

Nuk = same, maybe slightly down (RIP 15+ targets/game)
Fuller = down or same (is DT more than a 1-year rental?)
Keke = slightly down
Watson = up (but still down relative to where he was pre-Fuller injury)
10-team standard, 18-man rosters (plus K/D + 1 IR + 2 TAXI)
1QB | 2RB | 2WR | 1TE | 1FLEX
2021: 8-6, 5th (AP: 76-50 / 60.3%, 3rd) ||| Runner-up

- great for Watson owners that are contending this year

- I don't think this negatively impacts Coutee's rest of season outlook much; it should help him stay open between the hashmarks

- this is probably a half season rental, since DT's contract is too rich in '19

- considering the above, this implies Houston sees itself capable of making a serious run in the AFC this season; they're pushing chips into the pile

- Nuk is Nuk and Watson's rapport with him is iron-clad; I anticipate no signifiant change in target-share

- could be a moderate sell high window for DT owners; beware of hoping he'll step right in and do what Fuller did, that seems unlikely to me

It bumps Coutee from the #2 to the #3. Probably far fewer targets. How could this not negatively impact his season?

Probably just meant they have totally different roles

This is great news for Sutton, and should help DT some as well

Texans travel to Denver this week. DT can just let the team come pick him up.

What about Hamilton? Can he be a WR2 in the next year or two? He was dropped last week in my league, and may be hard to get off of waivers this week. I also own Nuk, so hopefully this helps him. Exciting to have so many trades in the NFL now.

You're overrating DT at this stage in his career. Maybe by a lot.

I think DT's effective contribution will have more real life football value than box-score value. It'll keep secondaries paying attention to that side of the field, keep the 3-wide set effective and legit.

But DT doesn't separate like Fuller, and Coutee's usage thus far has been unique to Nuk's/Fuller's -- I see little overlap.

And Watson loves throwing deep. Coutee remains the fastest starting receiver now with Fuller out. Assuming his hamstring starts cooperating, frequent vertical routes up the seam are probably incoming.

Finally, DT has to learn the offense on the go, and establish trust and chemistry with Watson. Coutee has a big lead there.

They're on the hook for his 19 mil next year? Ouch.

Not with the dead cap hit being so much less, they ain't.

DT will either radically restructure or be waived this offseason. Probably the latter, unless DT balls out.

This move by Houston is that of a team that believes it's contending in '18, acquiring a midseason stop-gap remedy for a need at the cost of a 4th round pick.

This is fantastic news for both DT and Sutton.

Those expecting an immediate jump in production from DT should be weary though. As an owner, I will expect to bench him until he shows that he knows the Texans playbook and can get on the same page with the QB. There are enough balls to go around for the Texans to make DT a productive low end WR2 by the time for fantasy play offs in my opinion.

This is a good football move for the Texans who feel they have the pieces to make a run in the NFL play offs this year.

I personally don't think DT has fallen off in ability as much as his stats would indicate. I think he has a couple of real good years left in him.

I have my doubts that DT stays with the Texans for 2019 though. His contract will be a clear over pay if he plays under the one currently in place. But, time will tell.

Love this for DT. Gets away from an awful QB situation.
