Marcell Ateman Anyone?

He was just promoted from the Oakland practice squad. 7th round draft pick who didn't make the active roster because he doesn't play special teams. He looked ok in the pre-season and finds himself on a team in transition and short on wr. The kid is 6'4 218lbs and was a good college wr at Oklahoma State where if it weren't for James Washington he would have garnered more recognition. Grabbed him as a stash after Amari trade. Anyone else find this kid to be interesting going forward?

I liked him in college. Had wanted to draft him in the rookie draft, but didn't have the space.

Liked him more than Washington to be honest, not the landing spot or opportunity per se, but in college at least.

Thanks for reminding me about him. He fell out of my brain space after he didn't make the 53. I won't roster him yet, but I'll add him to the watch list.

He's a very fundamentally sound WR. He just doesn't have athleticism. Got size and catch-radius, though. If he can get off the line quick enough for this level, together with enough play-strength to keep his routes on schedule, I think he might have the tools to be a low air-yards security-blanket.

He's a great stash. Roles on that Oakland team are up for grabs in a very real way.

If he is free - sure, but it is hard to get excited about the guy.
If anything he might be a possession / red zone target that would be very TD dependent but very hard to trust in your lineup.

What about Ardarius Stewart who just got added to the Raiders practice squad? Could he get activated for duty as the season drags on?

Decent game for him this week....led the team in receiving yards and tied for lead in receptions.

I threw a big chunk of my FAAB in team 1 to get Ateman on my squad. I liked him as a day-2 type coming out of school.

He led the Raiders in snaps by a big margin on Sunday and honestly, for the ROS why not trot him out there to see what you've got (if you're Gruden)? Season long since over, basically give him a 3-5 game tryout.
