An NFL team is going to spend a first round pick on a guy with 1400 rushing yards in his college career though? I'm not questioning you, just the source saying he's a first round possibility. Seems a bit of a stretch.Phaded wrote: ↑Sun Jan 06, 2019 6:00 pmThis is what I basically read, he was a committee and while the stats aren't there due to it - a lot of people are high on him.CGW wrote: ↑Sun Jan 06, 2019 2:56 pmHe was never really given the chance to be the lead back. He looks incredibly explosive when he does touch the ball. I have zero problem with a high projection for him, as I expect he will show well at the combine.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Sun Jan 06, 2019 1:56 pm
Did he declare? Rushing for 500 yards on Alabama isn't exactly awe inspiring.

I was reading somewhere that a lot of RBs are declaring this year, maybe because they're noticing it's a "weak" class and want to take advantage of the opportunity...now whether that turns people into 2nd or 3rd RD picks? Who knows.
While it may not be as pretty as the past few classes, I have to imagine we'll find some nice diamonds in this RB class...considering most dynasty players will be drafting them with 2nd to Late-round rookie picks.

If I were a good college RB I'd want to jump into this class as well.Servo wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 7:49 am I was reading somewhere that a lot of RBs are declaring this year, maybe because they're noticing it's a "weak" class and want to take advantage of the opportunity...now whether that turns people into 2nd or 3rd RD picks? I will say I am becoming more attracted to the 2019 class than I originally thought I would be - seems to be plenty of potential gems hiding amongst the weeds - guess we shall see if the Combine makes them visible or not.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

There's definitely guys who have the potential to do something, but there aren't many surefire prospects like 2018.

Re: Who are the studs coming in 2019
I agree with this. I think its actually a pretty deep class, especially at WR (and not at QB), but not a lot of separation in the quality level between the prospects. It is the ultimate "I like/not love this guy" class. There are plenty of guys I like though.dynastyninja wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 10:23 am There's definitely guys who have the potential to do something, but there aren't many surefire prospects like 2018.

Re: Who are the studs coming in 2019
I've been accumulating 2nd round picks in this draft class and I'm liking the talk of a muddied class so talent slips to the second round of the rookie drafts but I'm still worried it will be picked over pretty well once it gets to the 15th pick or so.
Anybody doing any trade up/down yet with rookie picks? wondering what I can get with my picks of of #9 #11 # 16 overall. Might have to just sit tight for now.

I'm not sure we had that many surefire prospects in 2018.dynastyninja wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 10:23 am There's definitely guys who have the potential to do something, but there aren't many surefire prospects like 2018.
Looking at mizelle's ADP data from September, we had (in order):
-Barkley
-Guice
-Penny
-Michel
-Jones
-Chubb
-Kerryon
-Freeman
-Moore
-Sutton
-Ridley
-Kirk
How many of those guys outside of Barkley did we consider "surefire" coming into the draft?
Personally, I'd say Barkley and Chubb were the major ones--though Chubb's ADP of 1.6 indicates not everyone felt that way.

Re: Who are the studs coming in 2019
I viewed my top 5 backs as sure-fire (Barkley/Guice/Rojo/Chubb/Michel with Penny looking like a solid enough 6th) before the season. At this point I think Saquon, Chubb, and Michel have all proven that they are legitimate NFL talents. Guice looked really good in a few preseason carries, so I'm pretty sure he'll join those three. RoJo isn't sure-fire. Guys like Penny, KJ, Moore, and Ridley weren't necessarily surefire depending on who you asked, but they were still good enough prospects.heyfeefellskee wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 3:00 pmI'm not sure we had that many surefire prospects in 2018.dynastyninja wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 10:23 am There's definitely guys who have the potential to do something, but there aren't many surefire prospects like 2018.

The only RB in 2019 I'm really feeling good about is Holyfield now that he's declared. As of now, I'd include him with (but behind) the five listed above. I've briefly looked at receiver and haven't found anyone yet that I feel is surefire. There are guys who I wouldn't be surprised if they are successful WR1s, but the confidence isn't there.

Re: Who are the studs coming in 2019
Holyfield looks to me like a legitimate NFL running back. He's coming from a school that churns them out, and he looks the part. I don't think he's as good as Chubb or Sony, but I think he's right behind Sony.
