It's already been stated, but I'll reiterate don't leave offers pending once the games start. It's a dick move by the other owner, but one that he has complete right in doing.

Basically it seems to me that the players involved are immaterial and the question being asked is

Should another owner consider your teams benefit/outcome over their own benefit/outcome before accepting an offer.

I've posted a poll with some other similar scenarios - curious to see how it plays out.

Also what is an acceptable time frame - meaning how long should Team A had to revoke the offer once the news came out before Team B should feel ok about accepting and not being considered bush league.

Team B should ask if Team A still wants to offer the same deal or modify it. Sure, Team B can wait a bit before accepting without asking Team A, but that's still bush league, and he'll have that attached to him from now on.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

Agree with most everyone. I usually do revoke all offers but missed this one (1 of 7 leagues). "Some people's children" was meant with mild sarcasm. I did put a chat post: "obviously this offer was made before injury" just to put it out there. Trade is fair either way but did get a message of apology from other owner (and offer that undoes the trade) in response.

For me, I'm thinking to let it stand. Sure things look different after the game but I did make the offer and, if it had been accepted before injury, I'd still be minus a RB. Figure (team 3) it's better to just stick to it and hope Freeman, Howard, Hines can keep me going.

Post was as much as a "live and learn" post as a "this happened, discuss" post.

i think that is exactly the right attitude and the right way for the situation to play out!

Long story short

Offer made.
Game occurred.
Owner forgot to revoke offer.
Injury in game / News after game changed value of offer.
Other team accepted.
Original owner noted that the value had changed.
Other owner offered to reverse the trade.
Original owner decided to let it stand and use as a learning experience.

i never said it should be reversed. if the guy accepted it to be a dick or prove a point....he may be willing to reverse if the op wants it is all im saying.

we'll have to agree to disagree if you think trading for players when injury news breaks isnt bush league. i understand that you and others are pointing to making sure all offers are revoked at game time, but this exact scenario could play out during the week aswell. there is no place in a dynasty league where a race to the computer impacts any transaction. obviously just my opinion
Kill or be killed.
No. Definitely a bush league move.

The guy who did this just reduced the number of teams will to negotiate with him, or at minimum, made it more difficult. If your idea of a good trade is to rip the other guy off, that's crap and is very shortsighted.

Also - you probably shouldn't make an offer for a guy who might be going to jail and leave it out there too long. I inherited an orphan that had two decent players, one of which was Aaron Hernandez. Somebody offered me a later pick for him. The offer was still out there when it broke that he was being arrested.

I think I would have turned it down, though, just so my player news feed would have something in it every morning.

I really don’t understand how it would affect negotiations with other owners. All he did was an accept an offer that should have been revoked.

I agree it was a dbag move by the other owner but a couple of things...
1) This was already covered but always revoke offers before games start. We expect the owner that accepted the deal to "do the right thing" (for whatever that is worth) but that takes a lot of responsibility off the owner making the offer.
2) Perhaps leagues should not allow trades to occur during games. Many of my leagues have Sunday 1pm as the trade cut off.

Oh and PS when did he accept the offer? Was it literally right as the injury happened? Or was it when you posted on the forum, which was earlier today? If you waited to revoke (or he waited to accept) the offer until 2 days after an injury then that is on you. How was he supposed to know you didn't still want to do it?

I guess it’s a learning experience, but you won the trade long term pretty easily.

This smells like it should be a Turcorox or BoxoRocks...whatever his name is poll / discussion

Douche move but doubt shame works against him As far as future trades with other owners. But it gives you endless opportunity to trash him on the message board for being a weasel p.o.s. Hopefully karma bites him big time and Watkins blows up. Ajayi unfortunately won't be able to help you this season.

I've had a situation pop like this where the other owner has left an offer up, and one of the players he would be receiving got injured.

I emailed the owner and told him I would give him till the end of the day to revoke it if he wants, and after that I would accept it.

He thanked me & revoked.
