Going into MNF: Week 2

Postby joeday » Sun Sep 16, 2018 8:47 pm

Its down to 1 game to determine week 2. Lets see those match ups!

Mastodons (NON PPR): +37.95 with no players vs. Allen Robinson, Will Dissly (I think I should be ok, but OBJ and Gronk disappointing is making it closer than it should)
Rapid City Monuments (PPR): +25.40 with no players vs. Tyler Lockett (with Baldwin out, I'm a little worried)
Beefsquatch (PPR SUPERFLEX): -22.05 with Russell Wilson vs. no players (this feels like a reasonable amount for Wilson to get)
Klunebergs (PPR): +61.75 with no players vs. Jordan Howard, Tarik Cohen (I'm not too concerned since it would be hard to get 30+ points out of 2 RBs on the same team)
Kegel the Elf (PPR): +9.65 with no players vs. Taylor Gabriel (ugh I was a huge favorite going into the weak but my opponent got some seriously random great games...Keelan Cole is all I'm saying lol)
Equestranauts (PPR): +25.75 with Jordan Howard vs. Russell Wilson (well if I lose this one I will win another one...barring Howard getting hurt I should be fine)

Out of my 22 leagues, 16 have gone final or are out of hand one way or the other. In those leagues I am 9-7. This feels like a 12 or 13 win week.

How bout everyone else?

I’m down 15 and have Arob and Howard to start MNF so I’m feeling pretty good. If they pull it off I’ll be 2-0 and have survived in my guillotine league as well.

Harvey's Birdmen (0-1) [stand scoring]: +28.08 with Bears Def -vs- Allen Robinson {feel pretty good here, would have felt better starting Mahomes over Watson}

Shield of Damocles (0-1) [stand scoring]: +14.86 with no one -vs- Trey Burton {expect this to be close but hope to get the win}

Jolly Rogers (0-1) [3 pt pass TD/low QB scoring]: -20.00 with Russel Wilson -vs- no one {another coin flip, in the old days this would seem pretty much a sure thing but with the Seattle o-line not so much these days}

Midwest Land Sharks (1-0) [PPR w/ret yds & avg def scoring]: +3.15 with Tarik Cohen -vs- Trey Burton & Kevin Mack {even with the return yards, this feels like a loss as the def player is Mack!}

Death From Above (1-0) [PPR w/ret yds & avg def scoring]: -70.55 with Tarik Cohen, Chris Carson & Akiem Hicks -vs- no one {wouldn't normally list one where I'm so far behind but the ret yds can play a role if Cohen breaks a big one or two, if I win this the Land Sharks win for sure but I expect this is a loss}

Thunderbirds (1-0) [PPR w/ret yds]: +26.10 with no one -vs- Allen Robinson {PPR makes me a bit nervous here but I figure 60-40 for a win, benched Rodgers for Luck and that cost 12 points so may wind up regretting that}

Shadow Warriors (1-0) [PPR w/ret yds and avg def scoring]: +18.35 with Akiem Hicks -vs- Tarik Cohen {the coin flip the other way, if I win here I lose the two above but a loss here means better news for the Land Sharks and DFA}

Aces & Eights (0-1) [PPR w/ret yds and balanced def scoring]: +15.65 with Shaquill Griffin -vs- Shaquem Griffin {the battle of the brothers! since I have the lead already I think I should hold on but this team has been snake bitten recently so nothing taken for granted}

Z'ha'Dum Shadows (0-1) [PPR w/ret yds, balanced def scoring]: +40.69 with Jordan Howard, Rashaad Penny & Shaquill Griffin -vs- Russell Wilson & Tarik Cohen {I might lose some of the lead but still expect to win this one though stranger things have happened}

I play in 25 leagues, those already decided or would take "three miracles" to change I'm 11-5 in this week. The contested games are siting at 5-2-2 right now, so best case could get 7 wins but more likely I'll get 5 or 6 out of the nine

Teams not in sig (non-ppr):

Team 1: +14.78 with Russel Wilson and Penny vs Marshall and SEA Def. Should be a win
Team 2: +9.96 with Jordan Howard vs Russel Wilson. It will be a close game

Red Tiger Army (80-team IDP superflex)--Double header. 247.4 with Allen Robinson going against:
  • Khalil Mack (currently down 3.59)
  • Khalil Mack and Prince Amukamara (down .86)
This matchup is a big sweat. FitzMagic really bolstered my hopes. I just need Arob to finish the job.

Corktown Jaguars (80 team IDP)--254.67 with nobody left. Up 105.03 going against Rashaad Penny and Taylor Gabriel. Division rival. Not betting on anything and keeping that luck for my tight matchups.

Haru's Heroes (12-team PPR league)--184.7 points w/ Jordan Howard. Up 85.1 going against Chris Carson and Tyler Lockett.

Detroit Gladiators (16-team Superflex SalCap)--160 points with Trubisky and Allen Robinson. Down 141.65. Yeah, this team is looking bad. Positive thing is that there isn't a question on whether or not I can compete. I can safely sell everyone that i have on a 1-2 year deal.

#SFB8--(superflex, .5 ppr and .5 for first down)--160.78 with Russell Wilson. Down 34.34 vs nobody. Thought I was doing really well this game, but my opponent had Bortles, Rivers, and Gordon. Sad face.

Here's how I need tonight to break:
  • Russell Wilson avoid Khalil Mack completely and drop dimes to everyone except Brandon Marshall (Prince Amukamara will be on him), turning this game into a shootout
  • Trubisky feed the ball to Allen Robinson
  • Allen Robinson outscores Khalil Mack by 4+ points
Best case: 5-1
What will probably happen: 2-4

I have 4 out of 6 locked in as wins.

In the first of the other two, I'm down 25.7 with Allen Robinson and Danny Trevathan to go against my opponent's Khalil Mack. Not feeling great.

In the other, I'm winning 198.5 - 198.4. Neither team has any players left, but it's an IDP league, so a single stat correction could change the outcome.

No so coincidentally, both of the teams with questionable outcomes have Gronk at TE.

Best case: 6-0
Most likely: 5-1
12 Team Superflex - PPR, 0.25 PPC - QB/2RB/3WR/TE/Flex/Superflex
QB: L Jackson, Tagovailoa, Rodgers, Pickett, Tannehill
RB: Swift, Pacheco, Sanders, Hubbard, Spears, Dillon, Herbert, McLaughlin, Chandler, Dowdle
WR: DeVonta, Waddle, Aiyuk, Nacua, McLaurin, Hopkins, M Williams, Mingo, Wan’Dale, Hyatt
TE: Kelce, Okonkwo, Schoonmaker

Rough fantasy week for me overall.

In my two true rebuilds, I got smashed.

In my "competitive rebuild" (I'm young, have a lot invested in my devy crew, but it's not a dumpster fire) I got positively obliterated.

A Star Wars Superflex Dynasty I'm down 40 with Allen Robinson against Shaq Griffin and Frank Clark. Definitely a loss. This team needs Wentz back.

Final Fantasy Dynasty I'm down 3.5 with Jordan Howard against Tarik Cohen. This should be a win, but one long TD run from Cohen puts it in serious doubt.

The National Fantasy League (doubleheader week) I have Prince Amukamara left. In one, I'm down 19 against nothing. In one, I'm up 16 against Tyler Lockett. In all likelihood, this is a 1-1 week for me, but the IDP scoring is friendly enough that it would only take a good night to win, hardly a historic one.

Need 22 points from Howard and Burton. League gets 1 point per 3 carries, so it should be really close as long as Howard gets a good amount of carries and has a decent game.
12 team .5 PPR league. 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 FLEX, 1 D/ST, 1 K, 13 BN, 1 IR

2019 and 2020 Champion

QB- Mahomes / Purdy
RB- Barkley / Pollard / Kamara / Brian Robinson / Dillon / Charbonnet / Dowdle
WR- ARSB / Amari Cooper / Ridley / Diontae Johnson / Michael Thomas / Doubs / Wicks
TE- Goedert / Waller
D/ST- Bills / Dolphins / Chiefs
K- Butker

Taxi- Levis / Roschon Johnson / Jameson Williams / Michael Wilson / Okonkwo

Picks- 2023: 1.02, 1.11, 2.10, 2.11, 3.11, 4.10, 4.11

= being non-PPR Bears D doubled up on Robinson score so this wound up a win in almost a laugher

Shield of Damocles (0-1) [stand scoring]: +14.86 with no one -vs- Trey Burton {expect this to be close but hope to get the win}
= even with the TD his low yards closed the gap but I kept a 6 1/2 point win

Jolly Rogers (0-1) [3 pt pass TD/low QB scoring]: -20.00 with Russel Wilson -vs- no one {another coin flip, in the old days this would seem pretty much a sure thing but with the Seattle o-line not so much these days}
= closed the gap to 3 but still a loss, surprised it was that close, had Beckham had a bit more productive week 2 this would have been a win along with a couple of other leagues

Midwest Land Sharks (1-0) [PPR w/ret yds & avg def scoring]: +3.15 with Tarik Cohen -vs- Trey Burton & Kevin Mack {even with the return yards, this feels like a loss as the def player is Mack!}
= loss by 7 points, so many "what ifs" here, lost Zuerlein just before the game so got a 0, that alone could have swung the tide or if I'd started Cousins instead of Luck it would have been an easy win

Death From Above (1-0) [PPR w/ret yds & avg def scoring]: -70.55 with Tarik Cohen, Chris Carson & Akiem Hicks -vs- no one {wouldn't normally list one where I'm so far behind but the ret yds can play a role if Cohen breaks a big one or two, if I win this the Land Sharks win for sure but I expect this is a loss}
= still was a 48 point loss, only solace comes from no matter who I started I couldn't possibly have won so at least I don't have to fire the coach!

Thunderbirds (1-0) [PPR w/ret yds]: +26.10 with no one -vs- Allen Robinson {PPR makes me a bit nervous here but I figure 60-40 for a win, benched Rodgers for Luck and that cost 12 points so may wind up regretting that}
= held on for an 8 point win but all those targets in the early game sure had me worried!

Shadow Warriors (1-0) [PPR w/ret yds and avg def scoring]: +18.35 with Akiem Hicks -vs- Tarik Cohen {the coin flip the other way, if I win here I lose the two above but a loss here means better news for the Land Sharks and DFA}
= turned out easier than I thought as Hicks slightly outscored Cohen so the lead held for the win

Aces & Eights (0-1) [PPR w/ret yds and balanced def scoring]: +15.65 with Shaquill Griffin -vs- Shaquem Griffin {the battle of the brothers! since I have the lead already I think I should hold on but this team has been snake bitten recently so nothing taken for granted}
= he swapped Mychal Kendricks for Griffin so the twin battle was lost, he scored more with that move but my Griffin had two picks and wound up stretching the margin for the win, I felt pretty good after the first pick, by the second I wasn't worried about this game anymore

Z'ha'Dum Shadows (0-1) [PPR w/ret yds, balanced def scoring]: +40.69 with Jordan Howard, Rashaad Penny & Shaquill Griffin -vs- Russell Wilson & Tarik Cohen {I might lose some of the lead but still expect to win this one though stranger things have happened}
= actually increased the margin of victory here, though this was not really one I was too worried about

I play in 25 leagues, those already decided or would take "three miracles" to change I'm 11-5 in this week. The contested games are siting at 5-2-2 right now, so best case could get 7 wins but more likely I'll get 5 or 6 out of the nine

Finished the week with an 18-7 record, so an improvement from week 1 to be sure, that puts me at 32-18 for the year thus far
