Got: Mixon

I have Nuk, AJG and Julio as my main WRs and needed that sure thing at RB. Plus I have Gio too.

Life of Pablo wrote: Wed Oct 17, 2018 11:56 am Let's see..... our league has had 6 trades this year so far, which makes me so happy considering I think our previous record for an entire year was 3 lol. Usually average 1-2 trades/year.

Anyway... 2 trades for my team in sig.

Trade 1 (during our draft the weekend before the season started):
Gave: Lamar Miller + 1.10 (other guy took Calvin Ridley)
Received: 1.08 (I took Nick Chubb) + the rights to a 2019 1st-round pick swap (my team was 1.08-1.10 territory, his was 1.05-1.08)

Wanted to sell Miller while I could, and didn't need a WR (only RBs left at 1.08 were Chubb and RoJo, who I didn't want and was taken at 1.09 anyway). Liked Chubb and this was my only chance to get him. Would've taken Sutton if I held onto the 1.10. Happy with this trade so far.

Trade 2 (right before week 5 started), with the same team I made trade 1 with:
Gave: Michael Gallup + 2019 2nd (late) + 2020 2nd (late) + the 2019 1st swap option now belongs to him
Received: Tom Brady

Definitely gave up value at first glance, but buying QBs in this league is a bitch. Competing but Wilson had just not been getting the job done, really needed QB help for 2018 and possibly 2019. With small roster space, Gallup + both of the 2nd's were already fringe roster assets, so in my mind the biggest thing I gave up was the 2019 1st-round swap. Brady has been a much needed improvement so far. Time will tell if this was a "pointless" buy, but I was not ready to take a gamble on Wilson improving in 2018.
that trade 2 is shockingly bad
Haha! Pretty much. You could certainly argue any one of those pieces by itself is worth as much as Brady if not more. But unfortunately... because of the shallow rosters, win-now pieces are more valuable compared to your typical normal-sized league, while prospects you gotta wait on (like Gallup) and any draft picks after the 1st round is less valuable. I've had to cut bait on too many promising players in this league simply because I couldn't afford the roster space. And I can say with confidence that if I wasn't already a heavy favorite to win it all (won it last year), I would've gotten more "fair" offers. But with the target on my back the whole league was basically forcing me into an overpay. Nobody wants to be the guy that helps the best team get even better. This league's also infatuated with QBs (especially with the recent scoring boom) which didn't help me one bit.

I'd been dangling my 1st+ or even ARob+ out for a QB for a long time but nobody would budge. I didn't want my team stacked at every other position (with Bell, DJ, AJG, and Gronk getting up there in age) to suffer because I was too stubborn to fix a temporary weakness at QB... so I did what I had to. It was either that, ride with Wilson solo, or pick up a mediocre QB like Alex Smith (while DROPPING someone like Gallup or Ito, or trading them for pennies). Certainly an overpay for Brady, but I geared up my team for a title defense while only giving away fringe roster players in the process. So the other guy is definitely happy with the trade, but so am I.

Traded Hines and Westbrook for Emmanuel Sanders 2 days ago.

I know Sanders isn’t a great dynasty candidate, but he is a stable, consistent FLEX for me going forward for this year.

Team 1:

Gave: 2019 2nd (mid) and Chad Williams
Received: Emmanuel Sanders

I’m 6-0 and the favorite but with Kupp out and Fuller being inconsistent, I wanted a reliable WR3 and Sanders was made available from a rebuilding team.

I also have 2 1sts and an earlier 2nd so it was a bit easier giving up the pick.

I like that trade for you. I am in a similar situation as I wanted a more reliable WR3 and a guy that I can put in my FLEX that will give me consistent production and I was able to get Sanders as well. Worked out last night and hopefully he will be consistent the rest of the year.
