I thought the definition of "recency bias" was taking new information into account.
Only quoting you since you brought up Thomas, but..

Long-term, *I'd be worried if* I thought Michael Thomas is a product of Drew Brees and will fade when he retires. That seems to be a popular narrative.

He's one of the best receivers in the league at this point.

Because of Carr? Cooper averaged 3.61 yards of separation Monday night, one of the best in the league. As a Raider fan, I fear that Carr's broken leg and playing with that fracture in his back last year has given him a bad case of the yips. He is not the same guy as 2016. He looks to check down so quickly, and wasn't trying to extend plays at all. There were multiple times Cooper should have been targeted, but Carr is already dinking it out to a RB. I'm starting to think we might not see that Carr of 2016 again, if it's in his head, no coach can help, and he looks like he is playing scared.

I had Derek Carr (I do). Carr looks like he has the yips, as I stated above. Both Cooper and Nelson had some of the highest separation numbers of the week, but had a combined 4 targets. If Carr doesn't start pushing the ball down the field, he will not put up the numbers people were expecting.. As a Raider fan it pains me to say it, and I hope I am wrong, but Carr has just not looked the same since his injuries and it looks like he is playing fast, and it's not an encouraging sign.

Better days are likely. It's not like Jared Cook is going to have performances like this every week. However, they need to move him around the formation more. I don't understand why they don't use him in the slot where his efficiency is significantly better.

I'd be worried if I owned Big Ben in SF and didn't have Joshua Dobbs rostered.

Jared Cook is taking over that offense, and that reality has nothing to do with me betting on him over Everette, Jonnu, Shaheen and other TEs the community said were more valuable.

I like Cook but I'm not buying that. Cook is 31 and has had ample time to show out in his career, and has under-performed in every stop. One game in which the raiders offense was shut-down outside of him is not enough for me to buy into him.

No, he's not. That was game/matchup specific. He's had a few monster games in the past. He is not, nor will be the focal point of the offense on a week to week basis, he's no Gronk. I'm a Raider fan, and like Cook, he is a good pass catching TE, but he's not taking over the offense.

Raiders fans are hoping someone...ANYONE takes over that offense
