Hot start sells - Sell High
Hot start sells - Sell High
I already posted a "who are you looking to trade for if they start slow", this is the opposite, who on your team are you hoping for a hot start so you can trade them for more than you think they are really worth.
This is harder choice for me than buying low since you never know if a hot start turns into a hot season but for me is Tavon Austin, Geronimo Allison, maybe Crabtree and if I can get something pretty good for him, Tom Brady.

Re: Hot start sells - Sell High
Only player I think would fit the bill on my team is ARob. Maybe Lamar Miller too, but nobody ever wants to buy him no matter how well or poorly he does. Josh Doctson probably? I'm a believer though.
As for any other players not on my team, I'll stir the pot here lol... the first names that come to mind are Josh Gordon, Royce Freeman, Chris Carson, Jay Ajayi, Chris Hogan, Andrew Luck, Brandin Cooks, Anthony Miller, Marlon Mack, Kelvin Benjamin, Isaiah Crowell... fro the most part, upside players that are starting the season on a new team (or in a relatively new situation).

I think Jay Ajayi is a potential good one. I don’t trust him long-term but I do think he could have a really good 2018 season.

Players on teams that obviously struggle on early downs .. (Teams that ignore analytics, looking at you Chargers) ..

Devante Parker... If he puts up 2 or 3 solid weeks to start the season everybody will be thinking he is finally breaking out. All I want to do is sell him for a future 2nd round pick.

Re: Hot start sells - Sell High
Ajayi, Parker, Drake (even though I won't heed my own advice), veteran Denver receivers, Dion Lewis (it's almost a guarantee that he'll get injured), Mariota (see Lewis), whatever NE RB starts hot, whatever NE WR takes Edelman's targets at the beginning, Diggs (he always starts the season with ~400 yards/2TD's in the first 3 games and then gets hurt), Mike Williams (his back scares me), McKinnon, any RB 29+, Winston and Chris Carson (I know people will disagree but Seattle is notorious for having late round RB's plugged in, start out really strong and then disappear).
Edit: Garrapalo. His value is already ridiculously high for a QB that's started 7 games. If he starts hot people will be valuing him as a top 5 QB (some do already) and I think that's the highest his value will ever be.

Couple weeks into the season. Worthwhile bump.
Mahomes- can't wait to see what defenses do to him when they have enough film on his tendencies.

Re: Hot start sells - Sell High
We're 7 weeks into his first year as a starter. This is the point where there's usually enough film on a player to identify and exploit his weaknesses. One of them that's been identified is you want to keep him in the pocket and fence him in. His scrambling gives the WRs/TE/RB enough time to break open, and his arm is so strong he can disembowel a defense.
That said, the book on Brady is similar- harry him, make him feel the pressure. He's still a HOFer. Pressure won't necessarily turn Mahomes into Jake Locker or Vince Young.

Re: Hot start sells - Sell High
Mahomes' explosion into the league reminds me of Aaron Rodgers. Next year will be when we find out if he is a true stud, but I feel good about him.
Re: Hot start sells - Sell High
IMO the issue with Mahomes right now is the only way to stop him is in essence to just limit the overall damage he can do
Don't set the edge- he'll break contain and scramble
Don't get to him fast enough-his arm will pick apart your D
Rush your DBs-hahaha good luck going one on one with those weapons and his arm
Unless you can get there almost right away it's almost like a pick your poison, he can read a D pre and post snap, has an amazing arm both strength and accuracy wise, and has the athleticism to use his legs. All that combined with a great set of weapons and an offensive guru. At least for the next 3 years I don't see how he doesn't put up high end QB numbers
Will they be this good, no. The D will improve, weopons will worsen, OL will degrade etc. But he should be a top 5 option for the forseeable future
