Corey Clement

Postby ManuManu » Tue Aug 21, 2018 4:37 am

I saw a tweet from Daniel Jeremiah about guys he loves in fantasy this year, and he mentioned Clement. My ears perked up because he's plugged into Philly (tight with the GM and other front office types) and he was way ahead of everyone on Agholor, saying he was the Eagles' slot WR well before Matthews was traded.

With Ajayi a FA, Sproles set to retire and little room to sign an expensive FA next offseason, is now the time to buy Clement?
Team 1, 10-team 0.5-PPR
QB (1): Richardson, Watson, Purdy
RB (2-3): Walker, Swift, Dobbins, R. White, Mitchell, Gainwell
WR (3-4): Hill, Godwin, Aiyuk, Flowers, N. Collins, Doubs, M. Wilson, Shakir
TE (1-2): McBride, Goedert, Okonkwo

I don't know if I'd buy Clement, depends on the price of course, but he's definitely a guy have stashed for depth or nab in the late rounds of an MFL10.

I think the Eagles draft a RB high next year if they don't want to pay Ajayi.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

Or maybe they let Ajayi go and the future is Clement and Adams. Way too early to write these guys off.

Agreed; I'm not saying we should write them off. I just don't think the odds of either being significant fantasy assets is high. Worth a stab, but long shots. I love Clement's game, but there's a reason he was an UDFA.

I also have him stashed on a few teams but I get the feeling that he will never be the main guy, just a really nice complimentary piece, which has some value. You never know though, they could let Ajayi leave through FA. I think he’s worth a stash, if you have enough roster space.

For my sig league, I've gotten offers from various teams. All of them have put his value at around a 2nd. I haven't sold at that value and could understand not buying at that price.

I am debating if I should draft him at 2.07 in rookie draft. Is that too high for him? Other options at that spot may be 1 of the top 3 QBs, Tre'quan Smith, DJ Chark, etc.

Depends on the league and team. Generally I'd say no, but could be a yes depending on RB values, like a 2 RB league.

I would draft Tre’quan out of those choices.

I offered him up for Godwin, to a RB needy team in my .5 ppr league and I was ecstatic to see it was accepted.

I like his outlook and picked him off waivers in May in a standard 12-tm league with shallow rosters. Sold him yesterday for a 2nd which should end up being 2.01-2.04. I think the value was good for both sides.

I am starting him this week in a redraft. My concern is that he is dinged up and questionable this week (I am guessing from a practice injury).

If that’s true, it might be Josh Adams’ time.

I could see this backfield being headed up by Adams and Clement in the future.
