Re: Anyone nervous owning K Hunt?
When I watch football, he looks pretty darn good. There are many variables and good/bad luck after that, but what can you do in that case?

I agree with you that football (especially fantasy) has become overloaded with advanced stats that don't mean anything. But, Adjusted Line Yards is really the best stat out there to determine how valuable an offensive line is to the run game.Krypto_King wrote: ↑Thu Aug 16, 2018 10:54 amadvanced stats like this for football are just not anything I would put stock into at this time. There are sooo many variables when you have 22 different players on the field that change nearly every play and for only 16 games per year. Not to mention how health varies week to week and even down to down for any of those players. I understand smart people trying to make it like baseball but it's just not and so while I will not completely discount these stats I am still going to weight an athletic profile and my own eyes much heavier.Cameron Giles wrote: ↑Thu Aug 16, 2018 8:42 amHunt has his own redeeming qualities, but the level of play from KC's offensive line should not be understated.Krypto_King wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 4:56 pm we all know it was the OLine that led the league in broken tackles
They were #1 in Football Outsider's Adjusted Line Yards for most of the first half of the season. They finished 12th in that stat after regressing hard. At one point, KC was averaging around 6-7 adjusted line yards, which is historically good. They finished with 4.14.
As for real thoughts on Hunt, he's a running back so of course I am nervous but I am no more nervous about him than I am any running back in the league and generally less so.

Kareem Hunt: "bust?"
Kareem Hunt appears to be the trendy "first round bust" choice by all of the "experts" heading into the season.
I owned him all of last year, so I was directly affected by how poorly he played in mid-season. I can certainly see a scenario where his production dips. However, I can't fade Hunt in my PPR rankings when looking at the other RBs.
Gurley, Bell, Elliott, and Johnson are all clearly ahead of him. While Kamara, Barkley, and MAYBE Fournette have a reasonable chance to pass him. However, how can Hunt fall beyond RB8, even with a slight dropoff?
Anyone else think the "bust" label is uncalled for on Hunt? What do you think his ceiling/ floor is?
Where do you have him ranked in your Dynasty PPR rankings for 2018?

There's another Hunt thread already, but I like Hunt. I had him on my Radar 3 years ago, and I do think a dip in production is coming, but he's still an RB1.

Re: Anyone nervous owning K Hunt?
Will Hunt be a top 10 RB?
Based on what I saw last year there is no reason to worry about his production. In fact, I think he may take a step forward in the passing game based on coach speak.
Is he a lock for top 10? No. Potential injuries aside, it has been years since the RB position was this deep. So, if anything, he could get bumped out of the top 10 just because the fantasy competition will be so stiff. But I see no reason to worry about Hunt’s production. If he’s healthy he will play the bulk of the snaps and he will produce.

Re: Anyone nervous owning K Hunt?
Andy Reid has a long history of running his offense through his RBs. That alone should soothe any Hunt owner.

Re: Anyone nervous owning K Hunt?
I don't expect Hunt to repeat his rookie year, but I think he's a pretty darn talented running back in a great system for rbs behind a very good offensive line. Personally I put a lot of stock in missed tackles, where he stacks up pretty well vs. his peers. I think Mahomes in his first year of action will be less effective than Alex Smith (who had a career year last year) and b/c of this and Ware eating into his volume a very little bit, he won't necessarily stay at the same level of production.
But that said, all factors included, I also think he's a pretty safe bet for RB1 production and as owners you shouldn't worry (I don't own Hunt anywhere).
I did stash Spencer Ware in my last roster spot as I think he's performed reasonably well when called upon, but I think outside of giving Hunt breathers (maybe 5-7 touches per game?), he won't see much action.
So, last year he had just short of 1800 yards and 11 tds. I'm guessing he has something like 1300-1500 and 7.

Re: Anyone nervous owning K Hunt?
Ware is the one I'm nervous about. Everyone is assuming he's the handcuff but to my knowledge he isn't even healthy yet. I think he is a pup or even cut and we'll see Charc and Damien Williams mixed in on occasion.
Re: Anyone nervous owning K Hunt?
The only thing this poll shows is about half of all fantasy players are really nervous. Mirrors, ladders, and a black cat mindset is a natural human condition I guess.

Re: Anyone nervous owning K Hunt?
He's such a good pass catcher that he can't not be a RB1 if he plays in 11+ games.
Re: Anyone nervous owning K Hunt?
If you’re worried about his talent you shouldn’t be. I watched every KC game last year, Hunt is absolutely slippery. Even when he went down for no gain it was the 2nd or 3rd defender getting to him after breaking tackles.
His production could go down, but that’s just a testament to how good his rookie year was. My concern is nonexistent with the understanding that an RB1 year is the expectation not being the RB1 overall
