Chris Warren - how high in a rookie draft?

Postby jman3134 » Wed Aug 15, 2018 9:53 pm

Tired of the same old topics....will Carson get the starting job, is Saquon worth the price, etc.??

How about this kid? Looks like a gem on tape to me. I am debating taking him 4th round in a 10 round rookie/FA draft.

I doubt he makes the active roster. He's 5th on that team right now, I think he makes their practice squad. I would wait until later than the 4th.

I want him to be good, but man. Odds are way stacked against him.

It’s kind of like Krishawn Hogan last year. Yes, he’s got a great body type and on a depth chart somewhat devoid of great talent, but he got passed up on a few hundred times for a reason...

I know little about him, but I've read too many comments about him being a 6'2" back who runs high, and not behind his pads.

To the OP's question, unless that 10 team league is deep, I wouldn't roster him right now.
League #1- 14 tm ppr, 1Q, 2R, 3W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1K
1 DT, 2 DE, 2 LB, 1 CB, 1 S, 1 flex

League #2- 12 team PPR, 1Q, 1R, 2W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1 W/R/T, 1 Def

League #3- 12 tm PPR, 1Q, 0R (yes, ZERO RB) 3W, 1T, 2 R/W/T flex, 1 Def

I was usually am able to grab him either with my last rookie pick in a rookie draft, or with a waiver claim post-draft. In a Rookie/FA draft it is going to depend on what the FA pool looks like. If its a keeper league 8-9-10 seems reasonable, but if it is a typical 12 team 25 man dynasty league that allows for FAs in the draft, more like 5-6.

Chris Warren is going to be like a CJ Anderson type stash - in that you're stashing him on your roster for 1 year or so, and hope in 2019 he becomes an RB2 type like CJA did in 2014. Unless the Raiders cut Richard or Washington all indications are he'll be going to the practice squad. However if the Raiders keep him on the 53 man, even as a "TE" or "Fullback" then it could be earlier depending on whether an opportunity occurs.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

I know this much, his Dad was a really good RB, under-rated even. Most of the Seahawks fans will remember him. As for Chris Warren, the son, he’s just a deep league stash right now.

Just like Hogan this year, next year could really be a great opportunity for him. Martin and Lynch are both way past their prime?

Also, how can we properly evaluate Hogan last season when he tore his ACL in his first game action early/midseason.

The running back of the Raiders future is not currently on the roster. Try not to read into 2019 opportunity for a long shot prospect.

I've snatched end of roster shares in several leagues and I'm gonna hold for a bit. It's easy to toss around the advice not to roster these longshots, but in context, we are talking about 13 x 35 and 14x53 leagues. Plenty of room for these kinds of flyers.

Absolutely, this is when context has a lot of relevance. In the last week, I've seen him picked up in a 12x34 league (but rosters cut down to 28) and a 14x36 IDP league starting 2 RBs.

I like him ok but the replacement level at RB is just so dang high right now he would have to get lucky with injuries and poor GM work to find a decent role.

A other solid day today for this kid. If you read local press Gruden loves this kid. I'm holding for awhile since I have deep rosters
In too many leagues to list players. Check out my Dynasty Deep Dive!
