You are right. He does - he got 21.
He also had 18 in a game.

Good god, how does Barkley do it? Terrible team. Beaten early. Barkley still puts up a monster game.

Can't wait til the team around him improves.
Barkley is great and I love him, but I have to say Eli has no arm left and checks down a lot. This is part of it. Not trying to take away from Saquon, but it's the truth, Eli is done, and Saquon is going to benefit in FF herms because of it. if they get even a decent QB next year, his receiving numbers will take a bit of a hit.
Just wait until they start lining up Barkley wide as a WR. What if the Giants offensive line improves one day too?

The kid is absolutely unreal. He found cutback lane after cutback lane for a nine-yard gain. He's the ultimate threat with even just a slither of open space. As I said earlier in this thread, it won't be a shock if he's considered the best RB in football in a few years. He's like a Create-A-Player for an RB.

Better hope they don't line him up at wr. Eli won't have the time or the arm to get him the ball.

Well, if they ever get a QB worth a damn the upside is ridiculous. I still think they made the wrong decision passing on a QB at #2, but yeah.

My league only awards points for runs between the tackles. Too bad because I traded Todd Gurley, 2007 Randy Moss, and 14 first-round picks for this big stupid bust.

Just theory, but I feel like a better QB and Line would mean more targets downfield for OBJ/Shepard. Less dump offs to Barkley and more rushes. He'd still be great but he wouldn't be getting 90% of the touches like he is right now. Someone did mention the opportunity for more TD and I agree with that. Either way, dude is a stud
Yes, ask Kareem Hunt's targets how he likes his new, better QB

Great example, although everyone is going to tell you that Hunt isnt Barkley. Which is true, but the theory is still relevant

Saquon Barkley is the Megatron of RBs. I couldn't believe how incredible he looked last night at... everything. I shook my head in disbelief and awe several times. Never seen any RB like him.

Man I'm pretty sure I'll be pissed for eternity that my team didn't lose just 1 more game last year. 2018 might be the biggest chasm between the 1.01 and 1.02 in the history of dynasty.

Then again... I said the same thing about Robert Griffin III's rookie year! Apples and oranges though. :ewink:

Barkley the #1 Dynasty RB?

Postby Titans95 » Thu Nov 29, 2018 11:32 am

If this is had been a thread I apologize I didn't see it.

Call me crazy but is it time to consider Barkley already overtaking Gurley? Obviously both are absolute monsters so this is nitpicking but I'll go through some of my reasoning.

1. Age, I no it is minimal but Barkley will be 22 next season while Gurley will be 25, 3 year age difference for a RB is something to consider.

2. The difference after 11 games in ppr points per game is only 1 point edge to Gurley however Gurley is playing on an offense that is performing at the absolute peak whereas Barkley is producing on a dumpster fire team. I don't know if the Rams take a step back offensively if Gurley is affected or the WR's but someone will take a step back most likely in the future while it feels like the giants will continue to improve their O-line and potentially land the next big thing at Qb since they have such a high pick.

3. Both are 3 down backs but Barkley is currently on pace for 103 receptions....that is insane for a RB and seems like a much higher floor.

4. Both have top end speed but man it feels like Barkley is the only player on the field that can seriously take it to the house on any given play. Most of his long TD runs this season I think only Barkley himself would've been capable of pulling off.

He's my #1 overall dynasty asset, not just RB.

Yes. The age difference between he and Gurley is enough to make him the top back, and overall player IMO.

There wasn't a single player I was willing to trade him for this offseason. Don't blame anyone for having someone else as their RB1, but it's an easy decision for me.

Point #4 is exactly why I'm such a fan. He's the only guy in the NFL able to make some of these plays. A better offense probably won't mean that much better production, but I feel like the offense won't really matter with him.
