Who's in your top tier of rookie WRs?

Postby Life of Pablo » Thu Aug 09, 2018 8:17 am

Hey y'all. Instead of asking for typical WR rankings, who your #1 WR is, etc., I wanted to get your opinions on what you think are the top WRs before the first tier break. Basically, if you wanted a top WR badly in this draft, which ones would you be satisfied walking away with? To the point where, if it's your turn in the draft and all your 1st-tier WRs are gone, maybe you trade your pick away or trade back instead of "settling" on your favorite 2nd-tier WR.

Personally, I have Moore, Sutton, and just baaarreellyyy Kirk in my top tier. I'd rather have Moore or Sutton before Kirk, but I'd still be very content with him. For that reason I'm thinking of trading back a couple spots from my 1.10 pick just to gain a little extra value, as either Sutton or Kirk will almost certainly still be there in my league.

But what do you guys think? Maybe you have Moore alone in tier 1? Maybe you have Ridley or Miller in there instead of Sutton or Kirk? Maybe you're a Gallup or Pettis truther? Or maybe you like them all and don't care who you get as long as it's one of them? Basically, which WRs will have you doing this  if you're able to snag them with a later pick?

1 I think he’s the best rookie WR that the Packers drafted.

2 Other than Rodgers ripping all the young WRs a couple days ago, I read in a couple places saying ESB had started to separate himself with his superior hands and route running.

3 He gets bonus points for having a cool name :D

Love the Chark ranking even though I don't have him that high. He's definitely someone I'll be keeping my eye on in our draft.

Moore
Sutton (he's growing on me with camp praise)

Ridley

Miller

Kirk
Gallup
Pettis (interchangeable 3)

To answer your question, above this list is who I'd be content with. Possibly just Miller and above, but those 3 I see as decent value picks mid 2nd

Washington
Pettis
Chark

These 3 are ok bench stashes imo. Rest don't tilt my interest, so line up the dart board, give it a spin, and take a throw

Ridley & Sutton are in my top tier.

After that, I do not "love" anyone.
It is largely irrelevant to me though, my only rookie WR is Justin Watson.

I honestly don't see a huge gap between the top 6. Moore, Sutton, Ridley, Miller, Kirk, and Washington are all pretty close for me and wouldn't surprise me if any one of them ended up being the top WR in this class a year or two from now. After those names, I'd say Pettis is in the second tier on his own, followed by Gallup in the 3rd tier and Smith in the 4th. I don't really have much interest or hope in anyone else.

Moore
Miller

Ridley
Kirk
Gallup
Washington
Pettis

I only ever make 2 tiers: Studs & Starters. I think Gallup & Washington will fizzle out sometime between now and year 4, and Pettis will never be better than a WR3 or 4. The others will be 'meh' starters.

Moore & Miller will dominate this draft class.
