Oh, yes, that would've been really bad then lol. Join the dark side! IDP is a blast.

Re: No Win situation for Saquon?
Don't worry I was with you on this one. I have tried to convince my one and only league (its a friend league if that makes a difference) to do IDP for a bit but none of them want to. They think its too much work and we have had some people quit the league already anyway.Dynasty DeLorean wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 3:27 pmYou know, I thought you were trying to spell Njoku. Re: No Win situation for Saquon?
I'd also include Hunt, Kamara, Cook, Fournette, and Mixon on that list, with McCaffrey not far behind.Life of Pablo wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 10:32 am Barring a catastrophic meltdown, Barkley is one of the safest bets this year on averaging 20 touches/game immediately. Only other players that can say that are Gurley, Bell, Zeke, and DJ (not so coincidentally the consensus top 4 RB, if not overall, picks in redraft). At that point, all he has to do is put up pedestrian averages to get 1500+ yards from scrimmage.
Saquon just went 2nd overall in a startup I just drafted with 28 teams and very experienced owners. Just plain dumb to me. Why get a rookie behind a bad line with elite college tape, when you can get a guy who's 1-2 years older and has elite NFL tape and is on a better offense (referring to Zeke & Kamara specifically)? Many of the guys who reached on Saquon are Giants fans.
I just don't get why you'd pay "best player in the NFL currently" price for a guy who hasn't played a game, all based on college tape. I mean, in general these are experienced dynasty owners we're talking about, too.
Also, I disagree that he has "no flaws in his game." Imo he bounces outside somewhat too often, and gets stopped behind the line more than you might want to hear. Big 10 defenses have been porous to big runs for years, and the offenses are very power run oriented in general. NYG are going to have more receivers on the field, Engram isn't a great in line blocker, and we all know their OL is suspect maybe boosted a bit by some rookies who may or may not be able to contribute year one on the OL which is a tall task.
Anyway, I don't own Saquon anywhere, because if I'm spending top 3 RB money, I'm going to spend it on a top 3 RB, not a possible/future/predicted/expected/anticipated one. Because from that value there's nowhere to go but down, and big time talents bust all the time. We all say we know that, then spend our retirement on the latest who's-opinion-is-that-again rotoworld spin.

Saquon will be a good player and he will be a celebrity in NY and he will sleep fine at night whether he turns in a Fournette season or a Zeke season. I don't think he will read the messages here either way. He is overpriced in fantasy but set up just fine in real life. O-line isn't the best, but OBJ, Engram, Shepard running around downfield will open up running lanes.
Well said.
Guess we shall see though!

I see 1000 rushing yards, 500 receiving yards, 10+ total touchdowns.
This. I expect about 1000 yards on the ground and about 500 through the air with about 10 TD's combined. That should put him firmly in RB1 territory. Not RB1 overall. He needs to get a year of experience under his belt before I start predicting that. But, he'll be elite this year and make a run at #1 RB overall in 2019.
He has a better overall skill set than any RB I've seen as a rookie. Color me "sold" on him.

I was dead on with the yardage total and TD....thought they'd get him more involved in the short passing game considering how Jax was stuffing the run. Honestly not sure what the Giants game plan was- every time red zone switched over, i saw the same halfback dive or delayed handoff for 2 yards. No sweeps or screensraiders444 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 9:02 am I'll go out on a limb here with a game 1 prediction- Giants fall behind early, Barkley gets a few screen pass catches as well as carries from earlier. Id say a decent stat line considering the Jags stout D. His ability to simply break an explosive long play is just salivating as an owner. Can litterally happen on any down and anywhere on the field.

Re: No Win situation for Saquon?
From watching the game I was happy with his performance. I feel the giants will learn to use him better as the season goes on but the fact that he can bust off the big runs makes his ceiling so high.
I wasn't sure if his lack of involvement in the passing game in the first half was due to him having to commit to pass protection or the giants' fault. Either way they seemed to correct this in the second half.

Re: No Win situation for Saquon?
He looks dynamic out there. I'm excited to see what he can do when/if this team can put any kind of competent blocking out there. Sadly that likely won't be this year, but his game breaking and receiving ability give him a nice floor in the meantime.
