No Win situation for Saquon?
Re: No Win situation for Saquon?
I also feel like the amount of catches he is predicted to have is a bit exaggerated. Lots of mouths to feed in that offense, and good-great-in the discussion for GOAT mouths too. Odell cant be left out when talking about Barkleys targets, Engram and Shepard are no slouches either.
Re: No Win situation for Saquon?
Barkleys ADP in MFL10s over the past month has been 7th overall. I've seen him go as early as 5th overall. For those of you that don't know what that is...it's a very popular seasonal best ball format, not dynasty.

Barkley was more of a Percy Harvin type game breaking take it to the house type than he was a between the tackles grind it out actual 'running back'
This season is gonna be interesting

This is exactly why I sold my only 1.01; he honestly could have a good year but disappoint due to outlandish expectations.

Well anyone that has been playing long enough knows his O-Line is "a work in progress' at best and straight trash at worst. If he finishes as a Top-8 back he will have backed up his value.skip wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 9:48 amI don't get this impression at all. He's getting drafted in the top 5 of start-ups. That doesn't suggest owners will be fine without a stellar rookie season.GridironGuerilla wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 9:39 am My overall perception of expectations for Barkley by those owners is that he will have a successful career more so than a superstar Elliot like rookie year, and the former is the source of excitement and the reason he's held in high regard, not the later.

I guess they do not believe in (or do not love Saquon) the saying "If you love someone set them free".

Re: No Win situation for Saquon?
This thread should be called No Win Situation for Saquon OWNERS!
Saquon will be a good player and he will be a celebrity in NY and he will sleep fine at night whether he turns in a Fournette season or a Zeke season. I don't think he will read the messages here either way. He is overpriced in fantasy but set up just fine in real life. O-line isn't the best, but OBJ, Engram, Shepard running around downfield will open up running lanes.

Re: No Win situation for Saquon?
As someone who gave up Julio, Aaron Jones and Ngakoue to get Barkley, I feel I'm in the overpaid camp. However, I didn't trade for him with the idea that he was going to put up top 5 numbers this year. The Giants are a horrible team right now so it's unrealistic to expect Zeke first year numbers. However, if 2 years from now he's not putting up top 5 numbers then I'll kick myself for overpaying.

Re: No Win situation for Saquon?
Yes Barkley is set for life but if the Giants suck again and he is not good in real life that market is brutal. I wont feel bad for him really but he will be hearing it day and night if he struggles. Just imagine all of the "We should have taken a Qb", "This guy sucks" etc etc he will be hearing. Kid has a lot of pressure on him to perform in the countries biggest market. Ya he is set and im not shedding any tears for him but itll still suck for him if any of this happens. I will however be laughing at the owners who overpaid for him and the prognosticators who predicted he will be the Greatest Fantasy Player of all time.jetsfan5757 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 11:28 am This thread should be called No Win Situation for Saquon OWNERS!

He was drafted 4th overall (over Zeke) in a $300 startup I did earlier this year.GridironGuerilla wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 10:02 amHe hasn't been drafted inside the top 5 of any startups I've participated in. I took him inside the top 10 in a startup this off season but I have so many leagues it was just for fun. I FULLY acknowledge that there is a portion of the owning population that fit your description well and many here on these forums seem to have paid just ludicrous prices for him, but in my experience it certainly is not the majority in the leagues I participate in. I feel like most of these comments are reserved for the folks who paid absurd prices to acquire him, and I'm not sure that simply spending the 1.01 or trading for it for a price within some kind of reason to obtain a career top 15 back is all that out of line.
