Ronnie Jones

Postby grandmabetty » Fri Jul 27, 2018 9:32 am

who thinks RJ will produce RB1 numbers in fantasy this year and beyond? I made a trade for him giving up ridley which I was happy to do because I got good value but I didn't do a ton of research on RJ before making the trade. All I knew is I didn't have a high opinion on Ridley and other assets included in the trade made it a deal I wanted to do.

I'm really high on RoJo and can definitely see him producing at an RB1 level, but that kind of production is far from a guarantee. I have him clearly above Ridley, though.

Could he? sure. 2nd round RB with opportunity is an oft seen formula to success

I think there are plenty of others that have better chances from this draft class, and other RBs who have not yet been RB1s that could be RB1s this year. Just the last two years of rookies I have Barkley, Fournette, Cook, Hunt, Kamara, Guice, Penny, CMC, Mixon, Chubb, and Michel above him

That's 11 names which leaves just 1 left in a 12 team league for RB1, and there's plenty more vets like Bell/DJ/Zeke/Devonta/Others that are above that. There's an overabundance of RB1 potential RBs in the league right now

To your trade, I'd definitely take Rojo above Ridley so good job there, and Jones is well in the mix to jump some of the names I mention of other rookie and sophomore backs

RoJo over Ridley for sure. Heard just as many negative takes on RoJo as positive, but I would take him over Ridley right now.

Why are people down on Ridley? I think they are close in value in rookie ranks. If you need a RB, then take the RB, but Ridley is no slouch.

For this year I would expect RoJo to produce low end RB2. There are not much indicaters to suggest otherwise. In the future it will depend if he can be relied upon to get 50 receptions a year. Even if he does, doubt he goes much higher than a low end RB1.

Nope. I don't see him sticking around in this league after his rookie contract. He's Reggie Bush without the catching ability. No thanks.

I don't think Jones's game will translate well to the NFL. Not an RB1 in my books.

Juice and courage like Jones' always translates. The question for us is how many touches will Tampa feel comfortable with him getting per week with regard to his lightweight profile. He might only profile as a dynamic complementary back at the NFL level.

Behind Rojo the Bucs have Charles (watch me run in place) Simms and Peyton Barber. Barber showed a little something last year so I see him as the no.2. No question to me Rojo will be the force at RB for several years, especially with all the WR/TE talent on that team to open things up.

He would probably be solid as an outside zone RB, but last I checked that's not what they're running in Tampa. Otherwise, he's small and slow and I see an Ameer Abdullah type progression here. Would take Ridley over him.

Quick question, who is “Ronnie” Jones? Looks like there might actually be a Ronnie Jones who is an RB at Toledo. I do not think Ronnie Jones, Toledo RB, will have much of a shot to be an NFL RB1 this year. In fact, I’ll boldly step out and say he has no chance of getting a single carry this year.

I have RoJo as my RB2 in this class.
So - I obviously feel he can produce as an RB1. I don't think it comes this year and I think mid-RB2 is much more likely. I like his future prospects but I hate that coaching staff.

That sir, is too bold. For me he is in my third tier with Freeman and Kerryon. The situation is prime for production though
