Does anyone consider a random (mid) 1st for Alshon overrated? I'd say that's more than fair value. Is anyone suggesting he's worth more than that?

This for me. I think he’s a solid player but not a ton of upside, I definitely wouldn’t want him as my top WR but as a #2 or 3, then he should be fine.

I would have a really hard time giving up a 1st for Alshon.

His ADP suggests he is in line with a mid 1st - but that does not mean he is worth that to everyone.

Everyone is going to have a different opinion - but I think he is probably worth a late 1st to a contender, especially if they are looking for WR depth. How many 2019 WRs are going to be ready to be WR2-3 immediately - down the road I am sure several of them will reach his level of production.

But it is going to be league dependant. If you're a contender and you can move a late 1st this year for Jeffery - then you can do the same next year for another WR and repeat (you do not need to add rookie depth if you can buy veteran depth). However if you're starting a rebuild/retool it probably does not make sense to move a mid-first for Jeffery but to hope a Sutton or a Kirk can become what Jeffery was in Chicago.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

it was the guys 1st year with the eagles...i think saying that he cant get any better is foolish. its certainly possible the guy catches 75-85 balls for 1000 and 10.

we all know about the injury history, but what i like about him is that he's a veteran in his prime that we know can put up solid numbers. he likely has a few years left and for a decent price you can acquire him in most leagues. he's certainly not a center piece to build around...but most of us need these solid wr2-flex types of guys on our championship teams. (unless of course you play in those awesome leagues where a roster or 2 consists of nothing but high end guys and the rest of the league doesnt stand a chance)

I own him. Plan to hold, but would seriously consider any offer for a random 1st. Especially a late first with a quality prospect.

Me too. Late 1st is cheap for a guy who has the potential to be dominant when healthy in a top offense.

Dr.Graffin wrote: Thu Jul 26, 2018 1:13 am I think if you have realistic expectations, he's a great buy. Tied to Wentz with a nice contract. Yeah, he probably won't play a full season, but he's the clear WR1, in a great offense. Good pieces around him so he's not expected to do it all. Solid WR2 with potential to finish the year a low-end WR1...900 10. Good buy at current ADP but there's obvious injury risk.

This summer I moved Alshon + 1.09 + 2.09 for 1.03 + 2.03. No other owner was interested in Alshon except the guy that held 1.03. My thoughts are he is undervalued in dynasty, but I was happy to get what I got and move on from him.

He played hurt last year. He's a big time talent and a fine WR2. He's worth something like 1.06-1.08 in rookie drafts.

You can't totally apply this to future draft classes, but one good way to gauge his value would be: if he was available in your rookie draft, are there any WR's you'd take before him? If not then he's probably 1.05-1.08. If you'd rather have DJ Moore, Ridley, Miller, etc... then maybe he's more of a late 1st/early 2nd to you. Ultimately he's one of those players where the answer will depend heavily on if you're contending or rebuilding.

yall are crazy if you wouldnt pay a first for a guy who has hit 1400 yards before and is on one of the best offenses in the league. his yards per game in 2017 was 20 yards below his career norm (meaning i expect at a minimum for that to go up by say 10 yards a game if im being conservative...putting him right around 1k and 9-10 scores), he was getting acclimated to a new offense but still showed a knack for the endzone. he didnt even have any big games, this dude gets in a groove and has a splash game or two and his value will skyrocket. hes a bigtime buy for me.
