allen hurns worth a 19 1st?
Re: allen hurns worth a 19 1st?
Dallas will be adding a legit #1 next off-season, so I see Hurns as a very short term play right now.
If I have the depth, I'd move Hurns for a second. Yeah, he may flash some nice games this year, but I really doubt he'll be higher in value a year from now.

Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.
Re: allen hurns worth a 19 1st?
My first reaction would be that is a ridiculous price. Maybe you can get a 2nd, but even that I doubt with all the uncertainty surrounding the Cowboys pass game this year.
35 Team Dyn PPR, 3 x Copy SF start 2TE Super Prem (TE 2 PPR, 8pt TD), 6 pt/non-TE TD, 1pt/20 yds pass (300 +3pt), 1pt/10 yds rush/rec (100 +3pt)

Re: allen hurns worth a 19 1st?
If you are an owner actually looking to move Hurns, it might be easier to get a 1st for him in-season when it looks like he is actually living up to billing and is the Cowboys WR1 (rather than par of a WRBC) than right now when it is still speculative.
Seems to me if you picked up Hurns off waivers or for a late pick, and can turn it into a 2nd+ (and do not) then you could be playing with a hot potato. How long will Hurns actually (a) remain the WR1 in Dallas and (b) what if he gets injured again (like he did in 2016)? Seems like one of those situations where the player being valued is being propped up by opportunity. At some point, even if you do not like the market price, if you miss the sell window, then you're either left with a roster clogger or a long wait to the next window (if there is one).
If you do believe in him, or do have use for him on your roster (ie he'll be your WR4-5) then yeah its totally understandable if you do not want anything less than a 1st. Suppose that all depends on the Hurns owners mindset and the cost they spent to acquire him.
I remember it was tough to get a 1st for Hurns after his 2015 season, because of Allen Robinson & M. Lee. If Gallup develops and/or Dallas adds more weapons (ie 2019 WR class) then likely the same will occur after 2018 re: Hurns.

They could have added a legit #1 this season. If hurns capitalizes on his opportunities, they’ll have no reason to.Pac_Eddy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 15, 2018 8:45 am Dallas will be adding a legit #1 next off-season, so I see Hurns as a very short term play right now.

Exactly. This has been beat to death.skip wrote: ↑Sun Jul 15, 2018 7:58 amI don't think it's necessary to rehash the "Dak or Dez" debate. I fall on the same side of that discussion as does the front office and coaching staff. Re: allen hurns worth a 19 1st?
Certainly not buying for a 1st , even as a contender. Could see a 2nd plus a young 2nd or 3rd tier asset, or additional later pick. But if I was a contender I think I'd rather spend a 1st on a sure fire asset to help me win (rather then this low risk/reward move)

Re: allen hurns worth a 19 1st?
They went after Watkins, IIRC , and Mike Wallace would've been a good value get. Same with Crabtree. Decker and Maclin are still out there.Pac_Eddy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 15, 2018 11:20 amWho are you thinking of that they could've added?Studstables wrote: ↑Sun Jul 15, 2018 10:31 amThey could have added a legit #1 this season. Re: allen hurns worth a 19 1st?
They obviously didn’t wanna pay full freight for Watkins or Robinson, but they had their pick of all the second wave free agents as well as every rookie wr at pick 19.Pac_Eddy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 15, 2018 11:20 amWho are you thinking of that they could've added?Studstables wrote: ↑Sun Jul 15, 2018 10:31 amThey could have added a legit #1 this season. So you expect hurns to have at least 850 yards with like 70 receptions as his floor?skip wrote: ↑Sun Jul 15, 2018 7:58 amknotts4372 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 15, 2018 2:49 amat least what dez did last year? i'd be very surprised if he came anywhere close to it. not sure what makes you think he might. interested in hearing the case for it tho

To the OP, I would sell for a 2nd ASAP of it were offered to me.
Re: allen hurns worth a 19 1st?
I didn’t read all of the comments, so not sure if this has been said:
I would hold him for now and look to sell towards the end of the preseason, if I was looking to sell.
I would try to find weaker teams at that time and offer Hurns/2019 2nd for 2019 1st.
Maybe it can be done at that time
