How many leagues is too many?

I'm personally at my limit right now, which is 4 dynasty and 3 redraft. There is a little variance between them. I really enjoy 12-14 team leagues.

2 dynasty 12 team 0.5 PPR
1 dynasty 12 team 0.25 PPR (co-commish)
1 dynasty 14 team SF
1 redraft 14 team standard (co-commish)
1 redraft 12 team standard all TDs 6 pts
1 redraft 10 team PPR all TDs 6 pts (I will probably be leaving this one - not a fan of 10 team leagues)

I think it's all just personal preference. Three of those leagues I've been in for 5-7 years, and they are all with people I know. One is with coworkers, one is with college buddies, and the other two are with completely random people. It'd be really difficult to leave my 3 longest-standing leagues, two of which I help commish with my brother.

I'm currently in 8 dynasty leagues, 1 redraft with buddies that's been going for 23 years now, and a crap load of best ball leagues.

I try to have each dynasty league be a little different; only one is a standard, because I prefer SF, but the others have varying roster sizes, taxi squads, devy in one, IDP in another... I like the variety, and I enjoy the research, although I'm not the numbers geek others on these boards are (even if I may dream about being like that).

I went with two new leagues this year. Last year I grabbed some orphans, with the vague notion that I would build them into powerhouses and then sell them in a couple of years. I'll be interested in seeing if I really do that - both build them ibo powerhouses and the sell them part.

A lot of people like drafting, and I'm no exception. I like bestball for that, and have fielded 10-20 teams in the last couple years on MFL 10s.

I'm not sure yet what my limit is, I've got a system for keeping track during the season and the off-season isn't that bad yet. The best part is I rock in my redraft league with all the info I have from research. It's still fun, and that's all that matters.

The correct answer is two. I used to play in six and over the years it has been widdled down to just one and I couldn’t be happier. Polydynasty is overrated.

Last year I was in 5 leagues, but this year I am cutting it down to 3 at the most. 1 dynasty, 1 keeper, 1 redraft.

When you add a league and find that playing fantasy football is a chore instead of fun that's too many, otherwise however many you can handle and still have fun is the right number for you. I play in from 20-25 leagues each year, a mixture of 10 team redraft up to 24 team deep dynasty leagues. I'm still having fun so this number isn't too many yet
