Gore's 2011 value

Postby Derekrussell99 » Thu Jan 27, 2011 6:46 am

How do people feel about Gore's value going into next year...is he top 10 talent that can be had on the cheap? Is he someone you trade away if you can infuse younger talent?

As a Gore owner, as of about a week ago... I like Gore if he can be had cheaply. I gave up Grant and the 1.06 for Gore and the 1.10. While he may not be easy to move in the off-season, as I've found... If he can stay healthy for the first part of 2011, I think you'll have plenty of contending teams interested. If you posted your roster, it would be easier to judge.

So overall, I would trade for Gore if I can get him cheap. He then becomes a high risk/high reward player. If you have Gore, I would test the trade waters, but assume that the offers will get better after he has a few games back from the broken hip under his belt. Worst case scenario... Oh let's not even go there. lol...

Top 10 production, but as most owners are suspect of injury issues and age. If an owner is in "win now" mode, they have no reason to deal him for less than top 5-10 value.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

If you are rebuilding you should be dealing him, but only if you can get top10 value for him, if not I would hold him until midseason and then look for a trade

Agreed. He is supposed to be fully healed before offseason camps begin, so he should be fine by the start of the season. He's easily top 10 talent if not top 5 again.

I've predicted the downfall of gore many times and have always been wrong.
QB - DWatson(HOU)Minshew(JAX)Darnold(NYJ)
RB -NChubb(CLE)DHenry(TEN)JTaylor(IND)Gurley(ATL)
WR -DHopkins(ARI)ACooper(DAL)CGodwin(TB)OBJ(CLE)
TE - HHenry(SD)DGoeddart(PHI)
K - Zurlien(LAR)Crosby(GB)
Def - ARI DAL
[rookie] Haskins(WAS)DSwift(DET)Jefferson(MIN)MHardman(KC)
7th pick in 2021

Rosters must always be 3qbs 4wrs 4rbs 2tes 2kickers 2dst and protected players don't take up a roster spot, but are only for rookie/2nd-year players that were drafted

I'm not a Gore fan and never was, but he has put up some decent, not great numbers IMO. He cannot stay on the field and he is getting older. This surgery on his hip would scare the hell out of me. If I had him, i would trade as fast as I could. If I were a contending team, I would try to get him as cheaply as I could..... that is if I can stand him enough to have him on my team! :D

1374 total yards and 13 TD's through 12 games, and thats not great numbers? In 2006 he accumulated over 2100 total yards from scrimmage. I guess I'm curious what would constitute as great numbers to you?

If you can get top 10 value for Gore, I´d give him away in a heartbeat.. but since this wount happen most likely you might need to trade him for less(something with upside that might emerge in the future and a draft pick) or ride him into the ground. I´d expect 1 o 2 more seasons of top 10 production.

Frank Gore (fractured hip) confirmed that he won't need surgery and expects to begin running again in eight weeks.

Gore is expected to be ready to participate in the entirety of the 49ers' offseason work. Great news for Gore, the team, and Gore's Dynasty league owners. While he's losing value as he ages, Gore avoided the worst-case scenario and should be as good as new by training camp.

Thanks, Mark, I guessed I missed that! But, a broken hip has to scare everyone! I'm still not a Gore fan!

You like him... I get it. I don't. I won't ever have him on my team. I had him once in an inaugural draft and traded him after the draft.
I will admit that I don't ever recall watching him play, because I live on the east coast and maybe the Niners suck enough not to be on national television very often.

I won't have him within my top 15 and more than likely closer to top-25 or top-30. I had him at RB15 last November and that was pre- broken hip injury. I've never drafted him or owned him. He's always been a player I've passed on due to his injury history (and injury-present lol). Great player and stud when healthy, no doubt about it. I'm not sure how much he has left. We could be looking at another Westbrook or Clinton Portis scenario sooner than later - if we're not already.

Its not about me liking him or not, I'm just questioning your accusation that he hasn't posted great numbers.... No matter what your opinion of him may be, his numbers speak for themselves.

I like Gore, but If I could get young talent for him, I would...if he comes back strong, which I hear is expected, his value will increase into next year...a team owner in "win now mode" will definatly be interested in him.
