Relegation League
You know what idea I have always liked...a relegation league. 24 teams. Bottom 12 teams get relegated to the B league. $100 entry for every team but $20 from each B team goes into the A pot.
12 team superflex /.5ppr/ 25 man rosters/3 IR
Start QB,2RB,2WR,TE,2Flex,Superflex, DST
QB: Rodgers, Brees, Cousins, Bridgewater
RB: Kamara, Jacobs, Kerryon, Carson,
WR: Hopkins, Julio, Lockett, A.J. Brown, McLaurin, Davis
TE: Jonnu, Ebron
DST: Chargers

Re: Relegation League
We have a 20 team league. 14 roster spots max, no K-D and cut downs to 10 every year.
Top 12 make the bigs
Bottom 8 make the smalls first year
Every year thereafter bottom 4 bigs and top 4 smalls switch

Re: Relegation League
I had proposed something similar for the HoFL and DLF Premium League. Where the champ moves up to the HoFL and the worst team moves down. Trading is allowed between leagues.
Re: Relegation League
getting 1/2 the league to pay forward the extra $20 just to play for the "bigger pot" next year.... likely is a tough sell.SnidelyWhiplash wrote: ↑Wed Jul 04, 2018 8:40 am $100 entry for every team but $20 from each B team goes into the A pot.

I took it to mean each teams pays 100 per. All of the buy in for group A teams goes into group A pot. 80 of the 100 for group B buy in goes into group B pot. The remaining 20 goes into group A pot.sloth8u wrote: ↑Wed Jul 04, 2018 10:42 amgetting 1/2 the league to pay forward the extra $20 just to play for the "bigger pot" next year.... likely is a tough sell.SnidelyWhiplash wrote: ↑Wed Jul 04, 2018 8:40 am $100 entry for every team but $20 from each B team goes into the A pot.

Re: Relegation League
How I read it as well. A bonus for being a winner in the A group, and an incentive for those in the B group to improve their teams and move up to the A division. But nobody is penalized in terms of buy-in for being in the B league.Pullo Vision wrote: ↑Wed Jul 04, 2018 11:56 amI took it to mean each teams pays 100 per. Re: Relegation League
Yep, that’s the way I would do it. Still a good pot for winning B league (even getting 2nd) but much better to win the A pot.Pullo Vision wrote: ↑Wed Jul 04, 2018 11:56 amI took it to mean each teams pays 100 per. Re: Relegation League
This is how I'm considering processing relegation in a new league- 3 divisions. Division A winner gets twice their buy in money, Division B winner gets their buy money, and Division C doesn't get any money for winning their division.
Division B and C winners get promoted up, bottom teams of A and B relegated down. Since the bottom team of the last division can't be relegated, trying to find an appropriate penalty. Maybe first four draft picks are in order of division C standings- 1st place (division winner and promoted team), 2nd place, 3rd, 4th.

Re: Relegation League
Not sure if many saw this post, but it is really a rather brilliant idea, if I understand correctly. Instead of having relegation occur between two or more different leagues, it is within the league, and structured around the league's divisions. So winners move into tougher divisions, while losers go down into easier divisions. I don't exactly follow the payouts, since everyone is competing against everyone, including playoffs. Payouts could be weighted, so if you win the Championship as a Division C member, you get 1/3 of the fee, while a Division B member would get 2/3rds the fee.Pullo Vision wrote: ↑Tue Dec 25, 2018 4:03 am This is how I'm considering processing relegation in a new league- 3 divisions. Unless the idea is to have segregated divisions, meaning Division C doesn't play against Division A and B...
Re: Relegation League
I think Roster Wars does something like this but not sure.
I've always wondered if you could do dynasty like European football relegation. The main issue is that dynasty roster owner turnover is a lot greater than ownership of football clubs.
