Question regarding suspensions....

When a player receives a suspension (say Winston's 3 game), when does the suspension get reduced? Is that part of the appeal?

For someone like, Ingram (4 game suspension) is there a chance he could have games removed, even though he lost his appeal?

It is part of the appeal as far as I understand.

This is almost as much of a non-news item as is the Peterman thread... Winston hasn't posted impressive enough numbers to use him in a lineup on a regular basis so from a fantasy perspective it won't have much impact vs. whomever fills in. From an NFL perspective, the Buccs were 5-11 last season in a division with 3 teams that all had double digit wins. Does anyone expect a huge turn around that 3 missed games means the difference between making the playoffs and being an also-ran?

Well most men who are/were subject to the Me Too Movement/Mccarthyism allegations lose/lost their careers. So 3 games is relatively nothing when compared to their fellow alleged man.

It's been two years, not three.

Anyway, I know what you mean, but it's worth pointing out that it's really not 'classic' NFL. This is the new NFL.

For decades, classic NFL was very lenient with player discipline. Today, new NFL is more sensitive about the damage to their brand from all the player scandals having become more vividly publicized now thanks to the booming mass communication and information world.

The owners' policy today is to make sure no one will accuse them of overlooking a given player's indiscretions. Not because they're morally motivated, of course, but because they're covering their asses.

I’m a Winston owner and I’m not sure I agree. A suspension at the beginning means the team is going to give Fitz all of the reps. I like Winston but I think he has a lot of room to improve and, at his young age, taking all of this practice away from him will slow his progress.

I’m also a Godwin owner and concerned (less concerned but still concerned) about his season, development, and rapport with Winston.

I didn’t read the Peterman thread but I’m guessing you mean it’s non-news because it won’t affect the WR/TE production. I can agree with that. But clearly it is big news for Winston dynasty owners for reasons in my post above. I’m worried about his development as a QB and as a human being. Two years ago, I thought I had a franchise dynasty QB on my roster. Winston had a setback last year and now this. So I’m pretty concerned and less confident about Winston becoming a franchise dynasty QB.

The reason I am not concerned is because as you mentioned - he is still very young. Even younger than DLF golden boy Carson Wentz despite being in the league longer. I agree he is still developing and growing, but I do not think 3 weeks (possibly less) hampers his development at this point as much as you suggest. Also, no guarantee it is Fitz.

Highly unlikely they give Fitz all the reps. Jimmy GQ did not get all the reps in the run up to Brady's suspension and Jimmy GQ wasn't a grizzled vet like Fitz is. Fitz knows the system and should need minimal reps to get aligned with the receivers. The team isn't going to sacrifice production in 13 games for production in 3 games.

Wonder if something like this affects how Tampa sees Winston long-term?

Have to imagine they'll finish at the bottom of the NFC South again in 2018, Koetter should get fired...does a new coach move on from Winston? Would definitely be a huge decision to throw in the towel on a #1 pick. Yes, he's still incredibly young but to me, he hasn't looked like a "game-changing" QB that maybe I thought he could have been.

Will depend on who they bring in. Could line up like it did for Cutler in Denver.
