Bump... Elijah McGuire believers / LaDainian Tomlinson fans ( ), it's time to rise and shine again.

Eli's back at practice, eligible to return Week 9... Crowell and Powell haven't been bad but there's definitely room to carve out a role or eventually take over the backfield next year... being the potential lead runner in 2019 for a 2nd-year Darnold-led offense could be somewhat promising... I know the LT comparison is a bit of a meme at this point, but hey to me that says that the RB coach is a big fan of his skillset and would ideally want to get him involved on all 3 downs if he proves capable...

I was a day 1 passenger on the Eli McGuire hype train and Chris Carson hype train last year (fellow passengers can now find me on the Breida and Ito trains these days). Thought he had a solid rookie year in limited action with the possibility for an expanded role in 2019. Sadly I dropped both Carson and Eli after their respective injuries. Now that he's almost back, I think there's still an opening for him here, much like there apparently turned out to be one for Carson. Maybe I'm just still awestruck from the LT comparison lol.

Anyway, for any shallower leagues where he's still available, now's your chance to take a flier (or is it flyer?) on him. Also an opportunity to buy him for pennies while you still can. Maybe go as high as a 3rd? Probably too high but eh yolo.

Elijah McGuire.... this guy is the bulwark of my roster.
I'm too ashamed of any of my teams to post.

I'm also thinking of jumping back in, but I think it's my Jets Fandom more than anything. I think he can be the Jets RB 2 next year. Powell getting long in the tooth and might get let go, but I don't see Crow going anywhere. He has made the most of the blocking given to him and made some huge plays (not just the long TDs, but punching in short ones and converting for 1st downs). My 2 cents

What I don’t understand is why they insist on giving Powell touches when Crowell has proven he is the better running and can also catch the ball. Anything I don’t know?

Woody Johnson owes Powell a wookie life debt. Powell took a laser blast for Johnson in the Battle of Kashyyyk. Powell’s repayment is to be the proverbial thorn in the side of whichever RB is actually starting.

Crowell has been nursing an ankle injury which keeps him from practicing all week since he set a team record of 219 rushing yards vs Denver. He's ailing, but he is by far the best back on that roster, by a mile.

FantasyFreak: it isn’t just last week. I don’t understand why it has been a near even split for carries the entire year. They signed him to a 3 year contract and insist on running Powell, who has had years to prove himself. All Crowell does is have a much better YPC and look much more dynamic doing it.

I watch every Jets game and I view Powell and Crowell nearly equal. Crowell popped a few huge runs, but on a per carries bassis Powell is just as effective. I view the Jets wanting to run RBBC to maximize both runners effectiveness.

Regarding McQuire. The LT comparisons is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I do think McQuire is similarly skilled as Crowell or Powell and can see him earning one of the RBBC with Crowell moving forward due to being a younger age and the Jets trying to go with younger players. I do not see McQuire to be Superior to Crowell to ever own the Jets backfield all to himself.

I have a spot at the end of my bench after a trade this week. Think i'll grab McQuire. Was a fan last year, and that backfield is always banged up.

Of course the same f***in' dude that picked up Carson last year after I dropped him (he stashed him around Week 9 while I was waiting until Week 11 for my bye weeks to clear up) just did the same a few minutes ago with McGuire. Granted I wasn't going to pick him up immediately unless I made a trade to free up space first (I would've had to drop either Ito or Foreman), but I'm just miffed that it's the same guy taking my sloppy seconds.
