Guys in my league can give up on a player crazy early. I got John Ross cheap off waivers last year.

What is everyone's take on him headed into year two. I guess it can't be worse than year 1.

Might be too light to play in the NFL, speed is undeniable though. Might end up like deanthony Thomas.

Saw a blurb that they're considering him at cornerback. If you've got a free roster space, sure, but I wouldn't pay anything for him... and he'd be my first cut.

Wouldn't cut him unless he shows absolutely nothing by the playoffs this year. I am not trying to acquire him unless it is for free or less than a 2nd round rookie pick.

I wouldn't put much stock into this. You don't select a WR #9 overall to move him to cornerback. That would be an embarrassment to the front office who put so much stock into a player, to do something so drastic so early. Especially considering a pro bowl defensive rookie of the year corner back was selected #11.

I would have picked him up for free as well, but I also wouldn't be surprised if he's back on waivers a year or two from now.

Getting him off waivers is the only way I'd want to acquire him. And that would also depend on if I had the room and who I had to cut.

Wow, I didn't realize I was walking into the Official John Ross Haters Clubhouse. Do you guys get decoder rings when you join?

Definite pick up and I'd hold unless for a 2nd on a guy I liked. You give any 1st rounder more than a year to see what the management saw in him

But I wouldn't buy for more than maybe a 3rd

Was there ever a John Ross fan club? I think people were down on him even before he entered the league. Hasn't done anything to change that.

He was divisive coming out but there were plenty of people that appreciated him as a prospect. If you didn't like him, you like him even less. If you liked him, you probably want to actually see him play football before you flush him down the toilet.

No doubt he's an easy target to bash, not denying that, so carry on.

He played his college ball in my backyard, and while he's undeniably speedy he wasn't on my draft board last year. Granted, I'm coming at this from a non-ppr mindset, but he simply doesn't have the size I look for in a typical WR, or the frame to put much weight on. I viewed him as a returner, or a guy they might try and use in the slot but doubted he could handle press coverage in the NFL and get off the line cleanly.

Teams fall in love with speed all the time, and while Ross may surprise and put it all together. I think he was over drafted, and will end up as primarily a special teamer and gadget player. Somewhat useful for an NFL team, not so much for fantasy. Too early to bail though. If you've got him, might as well give him this season to see how things shake out. His value can't get much lower than it is right now.

Was just asking a simple question. I guess you're one of the few who liked him last year. No one's blaming you for holding and hoping he does something. I'm sure there are still plenty of people who drafted Treadwell and are still holding and waiting.

I guess I'm a little surprised that you didn't know anybody liked Ross last year considering your post count indicates that you have lived on a dynasty message board for a very long time. Admittedly felt like you were being a little snarky. If not, no harm no foul. I'm here to tell you that there was indeed a John Ross Fan Club that advocated taking him as early as the the mid 1st.
