Thoughts on my 1.08 thoughts

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Thoughts on my 1.08 thoughts

Postby BaltimoreBlowfish » Wed Jun 13, 2018 9:56 am

I'm at 1.08 and have a pretty good team with few needs.

I'm not that into the top two WRs.

I'm not sure I'm into which of the top eight RBs is going to drop.

I'm thinking QB...orrrrrrrrrrrrrr......believe it or not, Chris Godwin got dropped late last year. Is taking him at 1.08 a reach? Should I just go best rookie available, regardless that I'm not in love with the RB/WR options at 1.08? Take a QB? Godwin is ok to take here? Thanks!

1) This is the wrong forum.

2) Depends on your league settings.

3) I hate Godwin with both Evans & OJ taking so many targets.

4) I think you'd be making a huge mistake passing on one of the top rookies.

Why not trade down if you hate everyone so much? For most people, the 1.08 is the absolute limit of the 2nd tier of talent. Even trading back to 1.09 could net you an extra 2nd rounder. I'd be looking to do that if you're not in love with the 8th spot.

This should ideally be in team advice.

Drafting 8, at least one of the top 8 RB should be available for you. Think I would probably draft any of the top 8 besides Kerryon over a rookie WR, and the top rookie WRs over QB.

Godwin is an interesting choice vs the rookie WRs, not sure I would take him over the top rookie WRs but if you are that convinced, go ahead. No right/wrong answer. Mizelle ADP places him just behind Kirk at 2.2 rookie pick value.

A trade down should be explored as well per above advice if you are not in love with anybody at 1.8.

A lot of drafters forget about the non-rookies, or don't take any until later. So I think you would be safe waiting to draft Godwin in the 2nd or 3rd, unless your fellow owners tend to draft free agents early. I would take the best RB left or WR if you can't trade back a little. You could also try trading the pick for a veteran that can help now and still draft Godwin in the 2nd or 3rd.

If you aren't in love with the top WR's or the remaining RB's there, you should look at trading down and picking up an extra pick. Unless it is a superflex league, I'd wait on a QB till at least the 2nd round. I think Godwin falls in around the 4th- 5th WR with this class, so I think it is too early for him.

I love Godwin there. Other than DJ Moore and C. Sutton (in a year) - none of the WR's have a ceiling higher than Godwins. They are all WR2's at best, like Godwin. So I'd take the proven talent there, but not at 1.08. Trade down or take whatever falls to you at 1.08. 1.08 is an ideal spot for this draft if not picking 1 or 2. At 1.07 I actually ended up with Nick Chubb.

I dont mind rosen if you need qb. Problem is, there are a few guys i think you "have to take " before him.

As mentioned, explore trade opportunities. Adding a solid piece to a good team is never a bad idea imo.

I'd be patient and see what unfolds during the draft Nick Chubb has been falling to that range in a couple of my drafts recently.

Yeah, I was surprised to get him at 1.07 in a 1QB. Felt pretty good about that. Sadly, I ALMOST had Michel who went 1.06. In case interested, went SB Guice Penny RoJo Moore Michel Chubb Ridley Royce Kirk Sutton Rosen.
