If I was a washed-up player......

Postby jordanzs » Tue Jun 12, 2018 5:31 pm

.....I wouldn't mind tearing my ACL for 12.5 million dollars:

The Rams have been ordered to pay free agent RB Reggie Bush $12.5 million in damages stemming from his 2015 torn ACL suffered at the Edward Jones Dome.

Then with the 49ers, Bush was pushed out of bounds and at the then-St. Louis Rams' home stadium and slipped on what he called a "concrete ring of death." It was an exposed surface of concrete on the sideline where Bush wiped out, his legs coming out from under him, tearing his ACL. He recorded just 12 carries in 2016 with the Bills and was out of the league last year. The injury effectively ended his career. The now-L.A. Rams will have to foot the bill
Reggie Bush sure has been a master at milking the system. He learned that from his USC days. Fun player to watch though, glad he got a super bowl ring as a contributor.

This post is a bit misleading.
It was a lawsuit for negligent care of the stadium.

I think your sentiment is asinine, OP. That Rams stadium was garbage for having that exposed concrete there, bush league stadium safety in a league that generates billions in profits. A wholly justified lawsuit shouldn't be described as 'milking the system'.

I remember the fight on here about whether Bush was going to relegate Hyde to the bench. I think Bush was basically already washed up at that point, but for an NFL stadium to have that kind of on field hazard was ridiculous.

Even if you only count the $15 million that’s guaranteed in his new contract, Sam Bradford will have made $129 million+ on his NFL contracts so far. THAT is milking the system.

Didnt other players slip on the same surface and the Rams knew about it and did nothing?

Sounds pretty Bush league...

Maybe the Edward Jones Dome should have been endowed the name Busch Stadium...

At least Bradford has played in like 2 dozen games in his career, haha. You wanna see someone really milk the system? Meet Chase Daniel - the man will have made like $30M after this year and never played in the NFL...

Yes. McCown bit it on the concrete literally the week before Bush busted his knee.

I believe the number is actually up around $158 million, which is around or more than what Rodgers, Brady, and Big Ben made over the same period.
