Hope he learned how to beat press coverage in the off season. I own him in a few leagues and getting real tired of Cooper getting dominated all too often.

Man, the Cooper v Crabtree debate brings back memories. I remember arguing with folks to no avail on these boards over the past few years how Crabtree was the not only the FAR better value, but the better, more trusted WR in Oakland.

I just bought Julio for TY Hilton, Dion Lewis + 3.10 (2018). Still reasonably happy, but thought it was a steal at first.

Curious - which side the OP and others would take on that trade? Whether Julio is elite or not. Thanks.

Cooper is a flawed player. None of that changes that you will not be able to acquire him in exchange for Julio this time next year. If anybody wants to bet on that, I’m interested.

Apparently Julio is working out with Terrell Owens (who apparently can still run under a 4.45)

I would prefer Julio in this trade. I do not like TY at all, think Dion will be a RB2 in PPR and 3.10 basically has no value whatsoever.

Falcons seem unlikely to renegotiate his current deal.

d@mn, I recently paid TY, Dion Lewis + a 3rd for Julio. Probably could get him a whole lot cheaper in next week or two when Julio announces he's holding out. Wait for it, it's coming.

Falcons saying they will not renegotiate this year, but will next. When he's a year older, a year slower, and the average elite WR annual $$ is even more expensive. Feels very much like the Falcons are giving Julio the bird (hint: not the falcon). You can play one more year then we'll trade you buddy.

Next several days/weeks will be really interesting...

Yeah, he’s got 3 years left on his deal, so he doesn’t really have much leverage and like you said, they’ve already said that they don’t have it “budgeted” for him to get a raise, so to speak. I could see Julio missing training camp but I highly doubt he will miss any games, he would lose too much money, jmo.

While I would be very surprised if it happened - if the Falcons were to cut him (because he held out) and could do so relatively inexpensively for that https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/atlanta-fal ... ones-7721/ the interesting thing to me is that 2 of the big 4 WRs that signed deals / extensions back in 2015 would have been cut in the same year.

Dez Bryant
Demaryius Thomas
AJ Green

being the other 3 WR who had mega-deals done in 2015.
