Think you're confusing communism with facism. Bet you scored in the low 150s on your LSAT...

Tanking can be ended completely be doing 1 of 2 things.

1) Give draft order based on best records of teams who miss playoffs.
or
2) Have a loser bracket tourament with winner getting first pick and so on.

This makes every game matter and forces every owner to scratch and claw for every win every week ... period.

Problem solved. Now can we move on from all these irritating 'tanking' posts?
Those are horrendous solutions. The worst teams in the league won't have a chance to turn things around if they can't ever win the 1st overall rookie pick.

Dammit, that's what I get for posting at around 3am. But yes, you are right that it is fascism and not communism.

And lol with the LSAT score thing. As I'm sure you know, something like this has no effect on that.

But why would it be wrong for me to implement those right now? I don't understand.
It's wrong because it sets a bad precedent. Then you would be able to change any other rules on the fly, and apply them retroactively whenever you feel it is convenient. Rules are rules. If a guy exposes a flaw, then just patch it up and apply going forward. Doing so retroactively can't weigh all of the other variables at hand. Perhaps this was a huge strategy for him and now such a rule change would deprive him of the strategic benefit he concocted. If this rule had been in place, he probably would have gone about things VERY differently, so keeping all of that the same but also changing the rules to have a retroactive effect deprives him of the ability to retroactively make changes on his end.

And for what it's worth, I think tanking is a legitimate strategy. See what happened in the NBA this past season.

The best way to prevent tanking is to base the draft order on the Optimum Points For. Both Fleaflicker and MFL track this. This is the purest and most accurate way of determining which roster is actually the worst and it removes any incentive whatsoever that could be derived from tanking.

Fleaflicker: Go to "Leaders" and then see the final column which is "Optimum PF".

MFL: Go to "Power Rank Report" and see the column labeled "Maximum PF"
8 Team PPR: Start 2 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 2 RB/WR/TE, 1 K, 2 DL, 2 LB, 2 DB, 2 IDP Flex
Initial season 2011 - Champs 2011|2013|2019|2021 - Runner up 2020|2022
QB: Lamar, Dak, Herbert, Jordan Love, Bryce Young
RB: Chubb, Swift, Mixon, Montgomery, Pacheco, Brian Robinson, Rachaad White, Tyjae, Miles Sanders, Deuce Vaughn,
WR: Ja'Marr Chase, AJ Brown, Pittman, Kupp, Deebo, DJ Moore, Christian Watson, Godwin, QJ, Rashee Rice
TE: Kelce, Taysom
K:
EDR/IL: TJW, Parsons
LB: Zaire, K Murray, Okereke, Quay, Lloyd, Hicks
DB: Whitehead,

10 Team PPR league: Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 RB/WR, 1 Superflex, 1 D/ST
Initial Season: 2013 - Champs 2014|2016 - Runner up 2022
QB: Dak, Anthony Richardson, Geno Smith, Trey Lance
RB: Achane, Brian Robinson, Chuba, James Conner, Pierce, Akers
WR: Tyreek, AJ Brown, Pittman, DK Metcalf, Nacua, Godwin, JuJu, Kyle Philips, Tillman
TE: Kittle, McBride, Michael Mayer, Musgrave, Ertz
D/ST: Green Bay
