i think esb is maybe worth a 4th/5th round ookie pick thats about it tho
That’s what I spent, a 4th. But too many people whether fantasy personalities or media guys or former scouts had him pegged in the 3rd rnd of the NFL draft range. And he fell for petty reasons. I believe he’s significantly better than the other 2 WRs the Packers drafted.
Maybe you do but the packers clearly don't hence being the 3rd wr they drafted but hes worth a flier I guess if you have the roster space.

This... have never seen someone run better routes and landing in a situation that he has he will have all the opportunity to succeed out wide and in the slot.

Even with the terrible QB play Ridley still had great numbers with the defense knowing he was the only passing threat they have.

I think most people are loving the value they are getting with the top WR in this class. Years prior, we've seen people take Treadwell 1.02, Amari 1.01, Corey Davis 1.02, etc. Yet, after the numerous busts/people soon to bust in the last 3 draft classes, it's probably a fair valuation for the position right now.

2018 will be a year for all of these WR to develop and maybe one or two have good years like Juju and Kupp in 2017 or Thomas, Tyreek and Shepard in 2016.

I believe Funchess' contract is up after 2018, people mentioned that Denver could show Sanders + Thomas the door after 2018, it's unlikely Julio gets let go...unless him deleting all Falcons stuff from Instagram is foreshadowing.

Long story short, the situation for a lot of these guys could blossom into a phenomenal opportunity but it may take a year+ to get there.

This is probably my favorite WR class since the '14 class, and while I dont expect any Odell Beckham/Mike Evans type Year 1 results, I think there are a lot of guys able to contribute in some fashion from the get-go.

I've been telling a lot of people in my leagues that this is going to be a fun class to review 3-4-5 years from now - as I truly would not be surprised if there are WRs drafted in the 4-5-6th rounds of rookie drafts who end up being WR2s in any given season.

I am fully aware that the 2019 WR class has a lot of hype/expectations already, and I bet there will be a stud or 2 there - but I also think that a lot of teams draft WR due to need at a specific role - be it Big Slot, Slotback, Flanker (Y) or Split End (Z) and dont even bother to evaluate all the WRs who declare.

And some of those positions will be filled by WRs who were able to translate their game immediately, and then develop as the season goes on.

So I think, just like this year, you're going to find a 2019 version of an ESB or an Auden Tate or a Deon Cain who had plenty of love from some people pre-draft fall several rounds because certains teams didnt have them on their board, and others who did, decided their inhouse option was solid enough, so may as well wait & see if they fall, rather than overspend. We are even likely to see even more Treadwell or John Ross - where highly drafted 2019 WRs get blocked by WRs already there (or got misdrafted).

I would say there are 25-30 WRs from this class who could end up finding a solid role (which may or may not be fantasy relevant) and that with the influx of pass catching 3 down RBs will make it harder than people want to admit for the 2019 class to come out guns blazing like 2014 did. That 2014 class had a special set of circumstances (not so strong WR classes before them, decline of stud RB, etc) that this 2019 class will not have.

I think there are a lot of WR2/3's in this class, just not sure many can grow into a WR1. But a lot of WR2/3's isnt a bad thing.

This is a great take ... especially the Treadwell at 1.02. Obviously hindsight is 20-20, but Moore, Ridley & Sutton were better prospects coming out. Pettis, Kirk & Washington probably landed in better situtation than Treadwell ... and if Trubisky develops then Miller definitely landed in a better position.

Not crazy at all IMO.

I have evaluating WR's for decades and this class has several potential gems. I agree with the poster that this is the best class since 14. The RB's and group think have pushed them down but the tape doesn't lie.

Gallup, Moore, Miller, Sutton all look really good. Miller, Moore and maybe Gallup could actually start week 1. Sutton may be a year away due to situation but he can play. There are also an additional 3 that could be impact players within a few years.

There is not a Julio type in this draft but there are a few legit WR1 quality players in this draft.

My favorites are Gallup and Miller. They both play fast and have the physical tools and footwork to beat press coverage. Gallup's back shoulder fades are elite. He was pushed down due to competition but I know they Cowboys loved him from several sources.

So... from things i have read so far on this thread...
A.No you are not crazy, I love this Wr class as well
B. Some of you are right, none of these guys, imo, except Sutton have that WR1 potential
C. A lot of these guys have that WR2/3 potential or depth guys for bye week starts... everyone needs depth
D. Next years class is the year of the WR1
E. To the Ridley truthers, I will happily sell him to you guys for where he is being drafted...
F. I loved ESB when I did my scouting before last season... BUT I think that Moore has just as much potential, and has more security being drafted 2 rounds ahead of him... but both players are great...
G. I am, imo, stacked at WR but I personally feel thats where the value is of this draft, whether that is Sutton at the end of round 1, Miller/Kirk/Washinton/Gallup early round 2, Galloway/Trequan end of round 2, or even Moore/Hamilton/ESB/Quinn/Fauntain in the later rounds

I'm optimistic there will be one or two fantasy WR1/2s emerging from this class. Maybe three in full PPR. Not immediately, of course, but in '19-'21.

The guys I have my eye on aren't conventional, though.

Or are they?

The paradigm on WRs in the NFL has shifted in recent years, but it seems not everyone has fully realized it yet.

Yup, the traditional large, proto-typical WR is being supplanted by a WR in the new mold -- shorter, quicker, slottier. And it fully corresponds with the fact that teams are doing more dinking and dunking, and that CBs have gotten much better at covering those large-bodied WRs on the outside.

Haha in all seriousness, I mean yeah - there are for sure some very talented dudes. But not many who I could envision, even in a PERFECT storyline, becoming a WR1 in dynasty.
Really man? I have such high hopes for so many of these guys. I think there is a big turn over in the nfl at the wr position guys like aj green, demaryius thomas, Larry Fitz, Doug baldwin are on their way out the door and its going to open up the opportunity for others to step in. I think guys like courtland sutton & Dj Moore could easily become wr1 heck even dante pettis could end up as a wr1.
IDK
Sutton best case Alshon Jeffery
Moore best case Amari Cooper
I dont see Pettis as a WR but more a return specialist with 35 receptions a year. Best case Maquise Goodwin
WR1 from this class...I dont see it
I love Anothy Miller (my WR1 in this rookie class) but dont see him ever topping 100 catches, 1100 yards or 10 TDs. There are some real nice WRs (hopefully all coming out)next year. It should definitely slow you down a little bit

" Am You Crazy for Loving this year's WR class ? "

YES !!!
.
.
.
It's like going to the bar or the big dance hoping to hook up with the " HOT CHICK " or "Studley Do Right " and instead settling for the wingman or the "embers" wing girlfriend. That's this draft class ...6's & 7's with a couple of potential 8's. Not a 9 or 10 in the bunch unless Sutton turns out to be a late bloomer

I think there are a lot of fantasy players chasing 2017 and will regret taking a lot of these RB's over some of these WR's, specifically Moore, Kirk, Gallup, as all 3 are in excellent situations going forward.

If you are looking for an elite WR1 then this draft class isn't for you.

If you are looking for a lot of guys who could have long careers as WR2s then this is a great class.

There are a lot of smaller technician slot type players (think Sterling Shepard or Emmanuel Sanders) like Miller, Kirk, Pettis, Hamilton and Coutee who could all see a lot of usage as soon as this year thanks to their refined route running.

I'm especially thrilled to get guys like DaeSean Hamilton in the 3rd of all of my drafts, since he's essentially Sterling Shepard 2.0 to me, but he won't cost you a top 5 pick like Shepard did.
