Draft Strategy Opinion

Postby Lions_Pride09 » Thu May 31, 2018 11:30 pm

First time dynasty owner. This league has a very weird draft. I'm not sure how to go about it. I have the 4th overall pick, here's the rules.

The initial draft will be a snake draft combining all players from the three sports: baseball, football, and basketball. Every player is eligible, including rookies for the initial draft.

Should I draft like every other sport each pick? Football, Basketball, then Baseball? This is weird. For the first year we will be using 2018 Football and Basketball and 2019 Baseball Seasons for overall league champion.

I know this includes basketball and baseball, just wasn't sure where in the heck to go for opinions.

The same strategy applies, but just to a different pool.

How do you decide what position or player to draft in football alone? Then ask the same for baseball and then for basketball. Extrapolate that logic to compare each sport; imagine as if each sport were a different position. You have to have a way to value different stats at each position relative to the scarcity at each position. Just apply the same rationale to different sports.

If you need a quick way to do it, then decide whom you would draft if it were just football, just baseball, and just basketball. Then decide how close the #2 player is at each sport. Draft the guy with the biggest gap.
