Tons of guys I like to draft in the 3rd-4th round range depending but they likely to a little time to simmer.
Yeah, I'm leaning towards keeping him. I'm mostly wrapping up a rebuild (maybe another year away, see how this year goes), so not thrilled about having older backs on my team.

Still, he was free and surprisingly worth starting sometimes last year on my then-horrific team.

With a taxi squad, I'd make the trade...then taxi one of the QBs or a RB like Samuels (if he falls) or Hines. I'd rather own Hines on a taxi than Burkhead on active roster.
I just traded him during the draft for the 3.06 and selected Mayfield for 1st team in sig. I only want him where I own Michel. I'm also going to need to pair down my roster to 25 and we have 5 taxi squad spots, so this helped that cause.
Baker Mayfield at 3.06?!?! Hell yes that's the right move. Mayfield on a taxi is much preferable to Burkhead in almost any format...for me anyways.
Yes, I was trying to trade up to grab him starting from the middle of the 2nd and he kept falling. What's strange is this league has always overvalued QB. I tried all offseason to get a backup because I didn't have much behind Wilson. Rosen went at 2.03, so I thought they were all going to go quick. Darnold, Jackson, and Allen all went before Mayfield.

Very nice on getting Mayfield at 3.06. I’m pretty sure some QB will fall to that pick for me too. It may be Josh Allen (who I’m not high on), but I bet one will fall to me. I think it’s a no brainer for me if one does fall to pick them and stash them on my taxi squad (assuming we get one this year). I really only have Winston and Mahomes at QB (have Tyrod too, but he isn’t long term), so I would ideally like to grab a rookie to stash.

Of the rookies from last year, Trubisky wasn’t even drafted in our rookie/ FA draft. There was only 3 highly ranked rookies last year and 1 of them went undrafted. So I think it’s a good shot that 1 of the 5 from this year fall to me at that pick.

This may be the only draft anywhere that Allen wasn't selected last of the top 5...

Rex Goathead will be worth something to the Sony owner but other than that, I don't think I'd wanna pay more than a mid 3rd. He feels like a true cuff now that Sony was taken in the 1st...but I suppose you never know with the Pats.

This is the way I see it in terms of role currently: Sony - Rex - White - Gillislee/Hill/Doesn't matter

At least one if not both will be released. Hill is a guarantee.

seems like imo burkhead is like a lot of patriot guys. worth more on your team, then usually what the market will pay for them.

I think keep 3.06 if you get a taxi. I like Burk this year though so really you can't go wrong

I could see stashing someone if you can to avoid the extra roster piece.
As of right now no, but our league is deciding on whether to add one for this year. Early indications are that we will though.

I’d be getting Burkhead, so if I make the trade, I won’t have that pick to place someone on the taxi squad. As of right now, I have picks 1.01 (Barkley), 2.01, 3.03, and 3.06

Yea I can see a QB falling to me at 3.06 that I could place on the taxi squad (assuming we get one). Or even another RB. If the Pats didn’t draft Sony in the 1st round, it might be an easy decision.

Tough decision because I don’t know right now if we are doing a taxi squad or not, so idk who will be there that I could potentially place there

We have added a taxi squad, so I think it is better to grab a player with pick 3.06 to stash in one of those spots versus Burkhead.

I could see Burkhead being especially valuable for the first month of 2018 with the Pats missing Edelman. He's a great pass catcher and could help fill that void and see in uptick in usage during the suspension. But agree that I'd probably hold the 3.06 pick now that you did get taxi squads.

Of course, if Burkhead does start out hot you could probably flip him for more than the 3.06 you gave up and stash another player off the wired on your taxi squad. Though you'd be missing out on that QB you were hoping to add.
