Re: Ranking my top-50 RBs in dynasty (Let's assume in a PPR startup)
I'd rather take a shot on the hope that he comes back to form (in a backfield devoid of talent), rather than take a guy who I have no faith in whatsoever, like Ballage or Justin Jackson or Jeremy Hill

Re: Ranking my top-50 RBs in dynasty (Let's assume in a PPR startup)
Ugh. There is no hope for Martin. He's always been overrated and he's officially fantasy irrelevant. Frank Gore will outscore him this season.

Re: Ranking my top-50 RBs in dynasty (Let's assume in a PPR startup)
I am not sure if a player can be fantasy irrelevant and overrated at the same time since they are sort of opposite ideas. In any case being 50 of 50 RBs definitely does not scream overrated to me. How many RBs with 2 top 5 finishes (in PPR) can you find with an ADP of 230 at the moment?
And no I am not saying Martin will reach those heights - but past production can lead to future production. Even last year - probably his worst by far Martin still put up 4 10+ ppg performances.

Re: Ranking my top-50 RBs in dynasty (Let's assume in a PPR startup)
I think Doug Martin could become an amputee and people would still defend his fantasy outlook.
The guy had two good seasons. I'll make my earlier statement clearer. He's always been overrated. And he is now fantasy irrelevant. This site is meant to help people. When Martin returned last year multiple people gave horrible advice to someone who wanted to trade for him. I was shocked at the high value picks that were being casually thrown-in for Martin.
I cannot understand why we can't nip this idea of Doug Martin being worth a roster spot in the bud. It doesn't even seem 50/50. The majority of people side with Doug Martin. It's insane to me.

Wow. Thanks for the input. Not going to comment on my differences of opinion, just cool to see someone put this kind of effort in, with ages and everything.

Yeah I noticed that too. Ronald Jones and Derrius Guice are babies lol.
Re: Ranking my top-50 RBs in dynasty (Let's assume in a PPR startup)
Probably a candidate for the silliest thing ever said.TheRookiePro wrote: ↑Fri May 25, 2018 9:44 pm I think Doug Martin could become an amputee and people would still defend his fantasy outlook.
And a little bit obtuse considering an amputee is actually going to play in the NFL and could have actual fantasy implications in IDP leagues.
And hey if you want to consider 2 top 5 seasons as "good" that is certainly your call.
RB Production involves a lot of factors - including opportunity, health, o-line. The Raiders have a good O-Line especially for their run game. The Raiders have given plenty of indications that they will run a fair amount - maybe not to the extend Jacksonville, Carolina or Minnesota did did but I would not be surprised if at least they reached 400-420.
So as long as an RB who has had a past track record of production, and has an opportunity at getting a decent number of attempts - especially in PPC or PFD formats - owners should pay some attention.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I completely agree with DLF when they say to avoid Bias at all possible. If you want to make an actual argument as to why Doug Martin is not worth lukkys ranking at 50 - I am sure people will listen but talking in absolutes with nothing but hot takes isnt helpful - which you said is what this site is supposed to be about.

Is Mixon above Kamara/Gordon/Hunt/Fournette just a personal preference thing? That seems aggressively high when comparing the production differences of those names
