CMC Trade Market

Postby SoftwoodGrampian » Fri May 25, 2018 4:42 am

First time poster here, been wanting to jump in and this motivated me to do so.

Would like to know where the market stands on CMC. In a PPR there’s an owner who says he wouldn’t give up one 2019 1st. Then another owner offered Kerryon + 1st + 2nd + 2nd for CMC and Corey Clement.

Where’s the market on CMC? What is he worth? Thx guys.

You nailed it. That is exactly the market and value for McCaffery.
Some guys love him and view him as a top 20 player overall and a RB1. Some guys don't. I have been seeing a lot of CMC owners sending out offers. Seems like they may be trying to sell while they can still get max value. I am not a believer or buyer at his current value. For me he is worth a late 1st round at most.

A late 1st is crazy low. I'm not a huge CMC fan, but the guy was a top 5 rookie pick last year and turned in a great rookie season. There's no reason his value should be lower now than it was before he played.

I agree with this, he should be values equally or better than he was as a rookie which was top 5 rookie pick. In PPR settings he will continue to have a high floor and is a great player to have as your RB2 on your roster. Any of the RBs available after the top 3/4 in this years rookie class don't have the same upside or high floor as CMC.

as a point of reference in a ppr idp league I moved CMAC and carlos Henderson for 1.12, a 2019 first (could be top 5), 2018 3.15, 2018 3.16, jamall Williams, and corey clement

ended up with kerryon at 1.12

Think you lost this one in ppr scoring by a wide margin. McCaffrey had 80 receptions last season and with Turner running the offense he must see the second coming of LT out of the backfield. Trading a potential 275 touch player with 80-100 reception upside is not something I would have even considered for magic beans.

Turner is one of the best at RB utilization out of the backfield. McCaffrey is a strong buy, not sell IMO.

McCaffrey is a 1.02+, easily.

Kerryon, 1st, and two 2nds is about right imo. Nearly dead on.

I really like CMC, but outside of full PPR, his ceiling -- and thus value -- has to be considered capped for now. The main reason why is rushing TDs -- usage statistics last season showed him playing drastically fewer red-zone snaps than snaps between the 20s. The five receiving TDs and two rushing TDs he scored last year may already represent his TD ceiling in a season.

I have CMC as a mid-low RB1 in full PPR, but in everything else he has to be considered an RB2/flex until the day an offense is letting him have goal-line carries, if that day ever comes.

I suspect Kerryon will be worth more than CMC by 2019, when Blount presumably is gone, the Detroit O-line is finally better, and Johnson becomes the sole goal-line back.

I offered my '19 & '20 1sts plus Mike Williams this offseason and got turned down.

I offered 1.02 in a league and was rejected. Seems right to me...he was a top RB selection in a better RB draft class imo. We'll see obviously but last years class was really good I think and we are going to think of it lik the '14 WR class. This year it is Barkley and "we'll see how they do" guys

Out of this draft class, I would take Barkley, Penny, and Sony over him.

Guice: I'm simply not big on Guice, so I'd rather have CMC over him.

Freeman: feels like he will prob put up better numbers than CMC this yr, but I can see him flashing then fading fast, so I'd rather have the long term aspect of pass catching RBs - so I'd rather have CMC over him.

Kerryon: hate his situation. Riddick will take all the third down work, while Blount takes all the GL work for the next yr or two. Would rather have CMC.

Chubb: This is the only RB that would be team related for me. If you, A) have depth at RB and can wait for Chubbs situation to clear up, or B) are a rebuilder, I'd take Chubb in a second over CMC. Chubb was being put in the Barkley tier pre-injury, and was performing better than Gurley at Georgia. It's taken some time to get back to where he was (and he's prob only 90% there now), but I'd much rather have Chubb over CMC if you can wait the year till Duke/Hyde leave and Chubb is Todd Haley's next Lev Bell. If you think this is your last year at a championship run, then I'd take CMC over Chubb.

Bear in mind Blount's on a one year deal, Johnson was prolific at the goal-line at Auburn, and Riddick's dead-cap hit almost vanishes in '19.

No way I would sell for less than 1.02 in a PPR league. He was the 8th overall draft pick last year and then had a very solid rookie season. Only Saquon has better draft pedigree from this year; Penny and Michel were 27th and 31st, and certainly none of them have a good rookie season under their belts.

It's hard for me to credit anything other than rookie fever driving anyone but Saquon above him. And we all know Saquon's value entered crazy territory like six months ago.

Hold onto CMC unless you get a ridiculous offer. He's a good weapon.
