Re: CMC Trade Market
And the Panthers spent a lot of draft capital on the guy. They will keep feeding (throwing) the ball to him for a few years, at least.
He is a good weapon in modern football (NFL and fantasy).

I got 1.5 (subsequently Sony Michel) for him and I’m stoked about that value.

Re: CMC Trade Market
Appreciate everyone's thoughtful responses. It seems like there is not really a consensus on him. But the low end seems to be a later 2018 1st, and the high end is something just under three 1st's (2018-19). Feels like such a wide variance for a player!
I think this year will tell us a lot!

Re: CMC Trade Market
Draft capital for CMC means nothing for me. I don't ever see him becoming a tackles runner. He'll always be a space back. This means he's a role player and puts his value far too close to Chris Thompson.Ruggenater wrote: ↑Fri May 25, 2018 5:17 am A late 1st is crazy low. I'm not a huge CMC fan, but the guy was a top 5 rookie pick last year and turned in a great rookie season. There's no reason his value should be lower now than it was before he played.
Last year, I wouldn't have taken him until the end of the first, or early 2nd, depending on who was there. This year, I'm in the same boat- I'd rather have Ridley and Kerryon, for instance.

Re: CMC Trade Market
Every owner I've talked to wants a mid-high RB1 return for him.
Zeke, Gurley, DJ, Bell, Kamara, Barkley, Fournette, Hunt, Cook and Gordon all have safer floors due to volume. Mixon, Freeman, Guice and Howard will probably see just as much volume as CMC. So that's 10-14 backs with better or similar volume.
Why would I pay high end RB1 prices for a RB who will never be a bellcow?
Why would I pay that much in hopes of CMC getting another ludicrous amount of targets again when I can buy a satellite back like Duke Johnson who has a similar ceiling for way, way less?

Like this trade in a twelve team league. Love it in a 16 team where depth is more importantebsteelers wrote: ↑Fri May 25, 2018 6:21 am as a point of reference in a ppr idp league I moved CMAC and carlos Henderson for 1.12, a 2019 first (could be top 5), 2018 3.15, 2018 3.16, jamall Williams, and corey clement
ended up with kerryon at 1.12

Re: CMC Trade Market
I like McCaffrey a lot in PPR. We've only had one NFL season to draw from, but it's seeming like he'll have a very consistent floor, which is huge when constructing a roster. He'll also probably last longer as a pass-catcher who won't take a workhorse-type beating.
He's probably not the running back who will win you a championship, but if you can pair him with a true stud running back, you're in business. McCaffrey's value seems to be in his consistency and what I'm projecting will be his longevity.

I own him and I’m tepid at best. Still wouldn’t take the 1.02 however.

Yeah that seems light to me, but there's definitely a chance Michel could pass him.btv802 wrote: ↑Tue May 29, 2018 9:12 amdynastyaggie wrote: ↑Sun May 27, 2018 8:46 am I got 1.5 (subsequently Sony Michel) for him and I’m stoked about that value.
Re: CMC Trade Market
Dion Lewis was an RB1 the second half of 2017 so yes if I take a big leap and assume Michel immediately slides into his role that he could produce something close to what CMC did in his rookie year (PPR RB8).dynastyninja wrote: ↑Tue May 29, 2018 9:19 amYeah that seems light to me, but there's definitely a chance Michel could pass him.btv802 wrote: ↑Tue May 29, 2018 9:12 amdynastyaggie wrote: ↑Sun May 27, 2018 8:46 am I got 1.5 (subsequently Sony Michel) for him and I’m stoked about that value.
Zoom out a little and you've still got CMC who is a year younger with higher draft capital and has already produced in a way that you hope Michel will produce with a very safe role on his team. Add in Sony's history of fumbles/injuries and the Pats tendency to scheme their RBs depending on strengths/weaknesses of opponents. I could be wrong but CMC pretty easy for me at this moment in time.

Re: CMC Trade Market
I'm definitely taking CMC between the two, but if Michel ends up being anything close to Kamara I could see him being worth more. Trading CMC for Michel is a value hit and his team is now (theoretically) worth less because of it, but I definitely can see the scenario where Michel ends up the better asset.btv802 wrote: ↑Tue May 29, 2018 10:11 amDion Lewis was an RB1 the second half of 2017 so yes if I take a big leap and assume Michel immediately slides into his role that he could produce something close to what CMC did in his rookie year (PPR RB8).dynastyninja wrote: ↑Tue May 29, 2018 9:19 amYeah that seems light to me, but there's definitely a chance Michel could pass him.

Re: CMC Trade Market
CMC deal just went down in my league...
Owner 1 received: CMC
Owner 2 received: Kenyan Drake, Cousins, 2020 2nd
Blah. It's annoying because if I had known that was all it took for CMC, I could have offered a better deal.

Re: CMC Trade Market
This is how I feel too. There is zero chance I would sell CMC straight up for the 1.02.
The fact that CMC had a very productive rookie campaign (8th overall RB), plus the fact that Norv Turner is now on board as OC, makes him way more valuable than whichever of "the other" RBs you prefer behind Saquon.
