False Hype in the Offseason

Anybody that any coach talks up in the off season. I can’t remember one time that a coach talks someone up and then they follow through.

OK you got me because that's technically what I said, but Michael Thomas was a 2nd rounder assuming the starting role on a pass-first offense. That doesn't count.

I'm talking about a guy who's never done anything in the NFL that is all-of-a-sudden a future stud simply because of a quote from a coach about a 15 minute practice.

Wasn't there a lot of talk about how Alex Smith was motivated last summer following the Chiefs selection of Mahomes?

Literally every aspect of catching a ball needs to be imporved lol. May as well have added "Fingers closing" to the list

One aspect of coach speak I'm severely hoping is BS is the 1a/1b Dion Lewis role in Ten. Hoping it's just a mask as they plan to come out using Henry as a hammer and then Lewis on 3rd and long or breathers. But, I bought two shares of Henry early in the off season so I'm clinging to hope at this point

Good call on this. Alex Smith comes out taking deep shots and fired up, no longer captain checkdown, and kept Mahomes on the bench all year without controversy. That was the rumor coming out of camp and we all scoffed at it, expecting to see what we'd seen for years out of Smith but the deep ball aggression was new (and worked)

As others have said, everything out of Miami. With all the hype coming out of camp around Amendola/Wilson, I fully expect neither to do anything and Parker to break out.
