Declined Overpays...

You guys ever want someone so bad that you send the house at a guy and he still declines???? I just offered Michael Thomas, Dez Bryant, three 2019 firsts with one of the two almost guaranteed to be the 1.1, as well as three 2018 thirds, for the 2018 1.1....he still responds with ‘not even close’....so, with that being my recent, what are some of your wild overpays that have been declined?

MT is worth roughly 3-4 1sts. So you basically offered 6-7 1sts for a player who has yet to even touch an NFL field.

Consider yourself lucky it was rejected.

(1) 1.01/Engram/Martavis for Hopkins/Ertz/JWhite (I accepted this and moved 1.01)
(2) 1.01 for Fournette/1.03/19 1st (mid to late) - DECLINED
(3) 1.01 for Bell/19 1st/19 2nd - DECLINED

Ludicrous that this was declined. Get a better RB in Bell and a first to bridge the age gap difference, and a 2nd as well. I'd take that anyway. If Barkley turns out to be 80 percent of what Bell has been you'll be lucky.

Yeah, he'll get another year, at least what T-Rich did. T-Rich started stinking it up the first 3 or 4 games of his 2nd year, and then the Browns traded him for a late first, which basically told everyone they had given up on him. I don't see Barkley going that road, but I also don't think the assumed ceiling will be reached, either. I think he'll be a top 5 back at some point, but not this year.

People get mad when I turn down their offer of 1.04 and Ingram, or some low ball crap for almost any year's 1.01. I simply say I see the market and even if I think it's ridiculous, why sell short? I want these crazy over pays, just one offer to see it for real.

That is correct. I sold 1.01 in the Hopkins deal. I tried to overpay in the other two deals and they wouldn't budge. I'm shocked and am starting to think the hype is officially off the rails. Even a counter or some comments would be helpful but instead they just declined.

It's probably saving me from myself though. The last 1.01 is overpaid for was Run DMC. Love McFadden landing in OAK as a 3-down RB and he was electric in college. Always good to remember that things don't always play out the way you think they will.
